Comment left Sep 04, 2009: "My Name is Tana and I'm a Latina from California. It wonderful to see how many Tana's are actually out there. And yes we share some of the same stories on the pronounciation of our name. I'm 44 years old and I have only met 5 ladies with our name in my life time." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Sep 03, 2009: "My name is Tana as well. I hated the name when i was younger because it was different but now that im older it doesnt bother me...i actually have grown to like its originality :)" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Aug 23, 2009: "Tana is the best name! My parents thought about naming me Santana but in the end they really didn't think it would go with my last name. So instead they just shortened it to Tana. Whenever I introduce myself I usually have to say "I'm Tana... like Montana but without the mon." I'm called Tana Banana, Tana Montana and Hannah Montana all the time." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jul 24, 2009: "I'm 25 years old and my name is Tana (pronounced the Montana way). I've gotten so many different pronunciations I don't even know how to pronounce it myself anymore lol. I'm african american and I love my name because it's unique. Oh and Tana Banana is definitely a popular nick name for me. It's cool to know that there are other Tanas out here.=)" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Apr 21, 2009: "I was named after Lake Tana in Ethiopia. It is the source of the Nile. Some people think that Lake Victoria is the source of the Nile, but it is only the source of the White Nile. The Blue Nile coming from Lake Tana actually supplies the majority of water volume to the Nile River. Lake Tana was named after a German queen. There is no diphthong "a" in German. My name is pronounced Tah-nuh, similar to Donna. Yes there were a few who called me Tuna and yes I got the Tanya stuff. The diphthong always bothered me the most. The only other ŭTanaŭs that I know pronounce their names like Montana and Anna. I have always thought their parents should have done more research before going and naming their child something they didn't know how to pronounce. I once new a person who named their daughter sifIlus...yes, spelled syphilis. They thought it was a beautiful name the way they tried to say it. Poor girl. I am a name snob. I like my name and always have. I don't like it to be tainted with other pronunciations." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Apr 02, 2009: "I'm Tana, pronounced Tah-na. I've also been called all of the other variations you all mentioned I've met a couple of other Tanas. It's nice to have a unique name even if I'm always correcting people. I was named after Montana. I've learned some other meanings for our name though - "summer" in serbo-croatian, "lair" or "den" in Italian. There's also a lake Tana in Ethiopia." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Feb 16, 2009: "My name is Tana (pronounced the Montana way) and I am 36 years old. I have always loved my name because it is so simple and unique. People frequently call me Tina, Tonya or Tanya. If they are reading my name from a list they almost always see it as Tara. I have met just a few Tana's throughout my life including the Tana who was named after me. :) I also want to say "Hello" to all of the Tana's out there!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Feb 12, 2009: "My name is Tana but ever one calls me Tana Banana! It was what i loved to eat when i was little and rimed!" (Report as inappropriate)
