Comment left Oct 05, 2006: "It took me a while, but as an adult, I love my name. And so many people misspell, mispronounce, or just think it should be something else. But so many people, when I tell them my name, tell me how much they like it, how different it is (so how do you come up with it being so popular?), and how pretty a name it is. It is pronounced just like it should be - it rhymes with that thing you take pictures with, a camera. Anyone who pronounces it differently should be ashamed. I did hear and see it on an old Miami Vice episode and they got it right in how it's spelled and how it's pronounced. And Tamara isn't not the same name and isn't pronounced the same. Think of the car Camaro and how that's pronounced and then replace the C with a T and the o with another a and see what you think." (Report as inappropriate)
