Comment left Aug 13, 2008: "Hi yes I am another Tabitha, I am Britisha nd born in 69, so i grew up with a very unusual name. My friends call me Tabs and I have never been a Tabby. I met my first other Tabitha when I was 27 and since then have met more and it certainly seems to be getting a bit more popular now. It comes from the greek Dorcas which is the Gazelle connection and wierdly when I look up my full name in google, there appears to be an american woman who lived hundreds of years ago with the eaxt same name- what are the odds of that!? Tabitha Jane Cowen. I love my name now, I amquite outgoing so I find it Ok now when i introdue myselkf, but as a child I mumbled it and when pople misheard or got it wrong I was too embarrassed to correct them, but that soon changed!" Ive only ever met one other Tabitha in my lifetime and i was so exited :P sad I know but its just so weird to experience you know what I mean. All of my friends know at least two other people in the class with their same name and they all say its really annoying because of the fact that they look every time someone says their name. I REALLY don't like being called 'Tab'. its just so not me.... I get Tabikat some times and my mum and dad call me 'Tabsy' but only they are allowed to call me that x] What really annoys me as well is that loads of people pronounce it wrong but most of the time its not their fault... take my german teacher for example, he says it Tab-ee-tha and people take the mick but I know its not his fault.... French people have an EXTREMELY difficult time saying it.... my ski instuctor ended up calling me Tobey for the rest of my holiday after two days of of saying 'you...erm.... tabee.... oh it is too difficult for me'

So much so older people just end up calling me another name that begins with a T. Usually Tiffany lol. But there have been instances where I have come across other people who have known another Tabitha. And she was always some wiley young woman.
When I was younger I despised my name. I wished that my mom would have given me a "blacker" sounding name. After discovering and appreciating the history of the name, how could I not love it! A lot of names don't come close to the rich history of Tabitha.
And guys come across a Nicole, Jennifer, or Amanda everyday. But only about 2 Tabithas in a lifetime. So rest assured he's one to rememeber you :)" (Report as inappropriate)

I looked my name up an i found that it mean gazelle an i was like dang my parents have all these different names for my brothers and sisters that mean gods gift from above an wat not. but i have come to except that gazelles are beautiful animals, and im a beautiful person. I get asked most often if my parents liked the show bewitched but they actually didnt lol.. i spell my nickname different from most others i spell mine..
