Comment left Feb 02, 2010: "I grew up calling my father's mother, "Granma Tabby". She was born in 1895 in Casey County, Kentucky. Her name was spelled "Tabitha" and was pronounced "tah-BUY-thu". She was named after a very good woman in the Bible, who made clothing for the poor. She died and the people in her village asked for the disciple Peter, who came and raised her from the dead in the name of Jesus. (Tabitha's name in Greek was Dorcas, and her story is in the Book of Acts 9:36-42). One of my cousins is named after our Grandmother...but they wanted her name to be a little different, so her name is Tabatha and pronounced "TAB-a-thu". One of my aunt's told my grandmother that my cousin was named after a witch on TV, not her....all of this was VERY puzzling to my grandmother...who didn't know her name had a different pronunciation.....!! My Granma Tabby is gone now, and my cousin is all grown up....and we call her Tab!" (Report as inappropriate)

Samantha, Amanda, Tabitha, Cassondra and Erika. I am the middle child. I think my name is very cool, so I wouldn't want to change it.
