Comment left Aug 25, 2008: "Yeah. This is my name, too. I've heard that it's greek and I've heard that it's french. The Greek meaning is "moon" and the French meaning is "solemn or dignified." I don't think either of these descriptions fit me. The majority of the time people spell it wrong. I haven't many anyone with the name who is caucasian like myself. When my mom first told my grandmother that she wanted to name me Salina, she didn't like it, but when she first saw me, she thought it suited me and told my mom that it had a "musical" sound to it. I think it's funny because music plays a MAJOR role in my life. I love my name. :)" (Report as inappropriate)
