Comment left Jan 31, 2007: "This is my name...and I'm close to 60 years old. My parents just liked it, I guess. It is invariably mispronounced as "Roxanne" even when I have just said it correctly. Makes me wonder how Princess Diana managed to keep from being called "Diane". I had a professor from Persia in university who told me the name was Persian (which I knew) and that it was pronounced "Rosh ah nah" accent on the last syllable. I have never met another Roxana...one or two Roxannes though." (Report as inappropriate)

People often spell it incorrectly; even worse, a lot of people (whom I assume are just too lazy to actually listen when I introduce myself) just say Roxanne.
