Though my mom claims to have invented the name, it has such a unique quality yet it does not beg for attention (i.e. bizarre made-up Hollywood baby names.) Though the pretty french name doesn't sound so nice paired with my German last one (which is not of the romance languages and frankly quite harsh sounding), I will hopefully marry some Frenchman one day! Or at least non-German. I'm only 16 now, but I've grown up in a small town and no one in the town has my name. It makes me feel unique and it also makes me feel elegant and I don't know why. Even though my names not sara (which means princess) I have always felt like a princess. And I think that the meaning of my names fits me well. I'm little and I think that rocks are strong and are hard to break,and they stand on their own, but they are usually smooth on the outside making them easy to look at and feel.

Comment left Oct 18, 2007: "Born in 1951, this WAS my given name. After a lifetime of disliking the name, I legally changed it to Sara at age 43 (now I'm 56). I have NEVER missed that name for one day and I wished I would have done it 35y before that! What little girl wouldn't rather be a "princess" than a "small rock"! DUH! Growing up in the 50s/60s, I NEVER met anyone else with that name, and was CONSTANTLY correcting people my whole life...no its not MI-chelle...no its not pronounced RO-chelle...no I'm not a "roach" and its not OK if you use that nickname for me! (my parents didn't allow me to be called Chelly). I rated it OK because its not such a bad name now-days; I hear that name all the time now. Little girls just want to fit in, not to be different. OK, so I AM a little odd, but hey, I'm an artist, I'm entitled and I don't need a name that labels me odd right off the bat! Other than that my friends call me "ROCHE" i like. It a cool name people like it wherever i go and most importantly I love it. A name is only what you make it out to be.
