I used to hate my name also but as I have aged I really grown to like it, I think because, as someone else has said, it is not so common. I get called Chelle, and Chelley also but I also get called Rocky, my family tell me the Rocky part was more likely given to me because as a 4 year old I would dance madly along to The Rocky Horror Picture Show!!!. Yes, I too was teased and called Roche at school after Roche Pharmaceuticals. But after all of the torment, I really have grown to love my name, it was given to me for a reason, and I love it when people say to me "Oh what a beautiful/pretty name, I have never heard that name before"..." Even though there is a city in France called La Rochelle, no one uses Rochelle as a first name.
