User Comments about the name Rhonda

  • Comment left Feb 25, 2010: "Our daugther Rhonda was born in 1984. I had liked that name since I was in grade school in the 1960's. She is now 25, loves her name, and we call her Rhon for short. It is always funny to call for her in a women's bathroom or dressing room, and have her answer with such a feminine voice! I will always remember the first time she heard a man being called Ron, she laughed and said that he had a girl's name!" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Mar 10, 2009: "I was born in 1960. My parents were on the way to the hospital so the doctors could induce labor. They passed a movie theater and saw a picture of Rhonda Fleming. She was of course, beautiful and had flowing red hair. Red hair is very prominent in both sides of our family. My brother and sister both have red hair, and I'm the only one who doesn't. Ha, sometimes people misspell it, but it doesn't bother me. I like the Help me Rhonda song, why wouldn't I? I often use it. I talk to many people over the phone and tell them to call me, the Help Me Rhonda Hotline." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Nov 12, 2008: "I was born Rhonda Michelle in 1964. I have one friend named Ronda...she hates Help Me Rhonda, but I love it! Most call me Rond or Ronnie...and of course, Rhonda! It's a different and cool name!" (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left Sep 24, 2008: "Born in 1959 the only Rhonda I knew of was Rhonda Fleming, but my dad named me and said all his kids had "R" names (which they do)and it had nothing to do with Rhonda Fleming. He always chose the first name, Mom chose the middle (Lynn). I hated my name growing up because I rarely met other Rhonda's, and teachers had a habit of looking at my name and calling me Rhoda. I still wish I had a more common name. ;)" (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left Jun 21, 2008: "My name is Rhonda Adehl, my parents were hoping for a boy after two girls, but no luck! This was the name they picked for me becouse the wanted me to have my dad's initals, even though I did not carry them on when i got married. I have never meet anyone anywhere close to my age with the name ( i am 25)." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left May 07, 2008: "My name is Rhonda (of course). I don't remember but maybe one other person in my whole high school with the same name. It wasn't like other girls who had at least one other person in every class with the same first name. I also got called nicknames like Rhonda Honda or even called Wanda. Thanks to the Beach Boys and Rhonda Fleming it has really been a neat name to have. My maiden last name brought more repercussions than my first it was Campbell so I got called Campbell Soup alot more than anything else. I say be proud of your name somebody thought you deserved it." Comment left May 07, 2008: "My name is Rhonda Alyce (pronounced A-lee-ce) and I like my name because it's one not everyone else has. I had an eighth grade history teacher that would come in after the class was seated and start singing Help Me Rhonda just to watch me turn several shades of red. Today I sing it to others so they can remember my name. I have found that the younger set doesn't have a clue what I am singing. I use the Help me Rhonda in my email and people always get the laugh of the day when I tell them what it is. When my husband bought his Honda four wheeler, I had the salesman put an R in front of the Honda logo. I have done the same with my Honda Accord. I have met several Rhonda's here in Anchorage. We always exhange middle names to see what combinations our parents came up with." (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left May 01, 2008: "I'm a Rhonda born in 1971. My mom said it was part of a paint color she saw on a paint can and she loved it. I always thought this was strange. My dads name is ronnie so i guess i am named after him. My sisters name is beautiful; Kathryn Nicole. Couldn't i have had just one of those. Like all the other rhondas was very affected by the beach boys song. I was also called honda rhonda. I have 2 boys and a daughter I named Emma Elizabeth which I think is beautiful. I hope she likes it" (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left Feb 07, 2008: "My name is Rhonda and I was born in 1951. Growing up I only knew one other Rhonda and didn't like my name because I thought it was too unusual. "Help Me Rhonda" was popular when I was in 8th grade and after that song came out I started to like my name." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Dec 01, 2007: "My name is Rhonda. I love my name. My father named me. I was born in 1962. I know quite a few people with the same as mine. I always get "Help Me Rhonda" sang to me and still get it sung to me now. I have enjoyed my name and always will. I think my name deserves a "Thumbs Up!"" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Nov 18, 2007: "Born in 1950, and a red headed baby, I too was named after Rhonda Fleming. She was a beauty, and made me proud to be named after her. "Help me Rhonda", was sung to me by many guys, and I still get occasionally, I've enjoyed my name." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left May 09, 2007: "Born in 1955,was named Rhonda, growing up I knew know one with my name so I did not like it. • Comment left Jan 10, 2007: "Well now, I am 54yrs old and my name is Rhonda. All through my younger years, I had nick names unrelated to my name. Then came the Beach Boys with Help Me Rhonda. For a few years I was embarrassed about the teasing that went along with the song. Now, it not only doesn't bother me but I have fun about it too. It wasn't until recently that I have discovered that most of my ancestors are from Wales and my last name is Welsh too. Now I am rather proud of the name as I research the Rhondda Valley and Rhondda River in Wales. To be named after a place with an interesting past is pretty "cool"." (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left Oct 10, 2006: "My name is Rhonda and I am in my 40s. A lot of people want to spell it without the H. I like my name, people associate the song "Help Me Rhonda" with my name. I also get people calling me Wanda (if they hear me wrong) or Rhoda, sometimes." (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left Mar 15, 2006: "I was born in 1970 and named Rhonda. When I asked my mother why she chose that name for me she relied "I wanted something unusual". The was certainly true! I like the name but I don't love it. I've met about three people with the name Rhonda in my lifetime snd none of them were crazy about the name either. I love more classic names. I have two daughters named Grace Anne and Emma Kate, we have a third girl due in a few weeks and have picked the name Julia Claire. I hope they grow up to love their names! I was teased most of my childhood by my brothers calling me "Rhonda Honda". Now my husband will call me that on occassion!" (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left May 29, 2005: "It's my name and I can usually find it on cups, key chains, etc. I like it o.k. usually when I meet someone with the same name they are close to my age and I am 41,so I guess it's not that popular now." (Report as inappropriate)
