For a girl, it should have two e's at the end - with one e it is a boy's name. I'm not a big fan of weird spellings for any name, including this one (ie. Renae or Rennee). I like the fact that it can be both a girl's or a boy's name - then again my name is Robin. Rene' is only two so not many incidents with mis-spellings and mis-pronounciations yet.
