Comment left Apr 28, 2008: "Hi! My name is Rayna. My father named me Rayna, because of my grandpa's 1st name "Raymond", and also my other grandpa's middle name was Raymond. I didn't like the name at first, because it didn't mean anything 2 me... But i realize that it came from someone special and it has a special meaning in spanish, "Queen!" I have only heard once of someone in my town speaking that they have a daughter named Rayna, but it wasn't spelled the same. And she no longer lives in my town, so i'm the only Rayna here, and it's great, because now i know for sure if people are refering to me and not another Rayna. People use to often pronounce and spell it wrong, but since im the only one here (with one way to spell it) and it's sounds just how it looks, i think it's getting a lil' easier for them. I used to hate it but now I like when they can't pronounce it or spell it because it makes me feel like my name is unique and I have only met one girl with the same name ( and Spelling) as mine. I LOVE my name because I like when in class I don't have to always put my last name cause there is only 1 Rayna. And you pronounce it "Ray-Nah". It is a spanish name that means "queen"." I love the spelling 'Raina'. When I was young I didn't like my name. I wanted a 'normal' name, like Nicole or Amy or Stacey. But now I love it. It sounds like "Ray-na" People often spell it wrong, but I attribute that to the rise of Spanish around the region I live in.
