In school whenever we have a sub I alway tell my friends just wait I'm going to be called Rachel today. It almost always happens except for when the sub knows a Rachelle.

We moved so much when I was in school, that I knew everytime I started a new school I would have to start all over on how my name is pronounced. I pronounce my name "Ruh-Shell". When I met my husband he made the same mistake, I told him I didn't like the name Rachel because I spent alot of time telling people that is not my name. I hate Rachel but Rachelle sounds prettier. I pronounce my name Ru shell. I get called every other name, and the most common ones. My friends mainly have called me by nicknames such as RayRay, RoRo and Shell. I also get my name pronounced as Rayshelle. I don't mind that, but I do correct alot of people. As nice as these names are I still have a hard time being called the altenate names as it seems to me an easy name to spell and say. My moms name is Michelle & my dads name is Randy..so she always told me they just put the first part of my dads name (Ra) and the last part of my moms name (chelle) and put em together and created mine. I had never met another Rachelle until my friends sister was a Rachelle although she spelled it Rachele. Ive always loved it & most people like it too.
