User Comments about the name Pauline
Comment left May 03, 2008: "An old lady's name, maybe, but it's not hideous like Bertha and Gertrude. In Britain it's more a middle-aged woman's name at the present time - the UK soap 'EastEnders' featured the nosey and grumpy matriarch Pauline Fowler from the soap's debut in 1985 until the character's death at Christmastime 2006. Actress Wendy Richard was previously best-known as Miss Brahms in the Seventies UK sitcom 'Are You Being Served?'." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Apr 15, 2008: "LOVE IT! My birth name is Paulina, but I go by Pauline. I have only met one other girl with the name (Paulina), I'm 18. The name was very popular in the 1920's to the 1930's." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Mar 13, 2008: "Pauline is a pretty name. My grandmother and great grandmother are both Paulina. The commentor who changed their name from Pauline to Pauly, what were you thinking! Pauly is not a nice name, sounds like a parrot or manly name to me. And to the other poster names ending in INE, are you from another planet. Hello many French girls names end in INE. Wonder what ugly name you have." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Feb 28, 2008: "I like the name Pauline. Spelt Pauline.
It was between Paulina and Pauline for my daughter. I chose Pauline as I don't like the ending "lina". Pauline Ava." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Oct 04, 2007: "My name is Paulene. I don't go by Paula and find it irritating when people call me this. I did not like my name growing up because it seemed like only older women were named this. I'm 32 and now I appreciate that only a few people are named Paulene. I have only meet two women with my name. I love having a unique name that people can pronounce and have heard of. It's a classic name. a great choice that is different but not trendy." Comment left Jun 20, 2007: "I love the name Pauline! It's my mother's name and also the name of the area where I grew up. Pauline, South Carolina and Pauline-Glenn Springs was the elementary school. There was a movie "The Perils of Pauline" which is one of my favs. Beautiful name, I wish I had a daughter so I could pass my mother's name on." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Dec 07, 2006: "My name is Pauline, I hated it when I was little but like it as an adult because it's not common. I am called Paula a lot and notice Paulina is popular in Poland and Hawaii but in American find it difficult to find anything with the name Pauline (i.e. cups, key chains, etc.)" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Oct 06, 2006: "I have a friend named Pauline. It seems line an odd derivative of Paul and i've never like the pronounciation. Esp. not the morpheme -ine." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Sep 24, 2006: "My name is Pauline and believe it or not most people ask me how to spell it, and when spelling it they usually use paulene. Strange. heh. I've met one or two other women with the name. All have been significantly older than I am (they are at least 60ish)." (Report as inappropriate)
