User Comments about the name Paula
Comment left Nov 20, 2009: "I love my name. I was named after my German Grandmother who was Pavelina - german for Paulina. But I am just Paula & I love it. I do get a lot of nicknames from Paula but love them all. For example... Miss Paula, Princess Paula, P-, Miss P, and forever my brother only refers to me as Paul (with a new york accent). I like that simplicity of the name - but not to simple or common. BEST NAME EVER!!!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Oct 22, 2009: "Hi My name's Paula. I like the name Paula because not everyone has it. Like I would hate to have the same name as one or more people in my grade. I wouldn't feel as unique if I was them, I like the name Paula!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Sep 18, 2009: "I am Paula Marie and in 8th grade decided that I would go by Marie. Not sure why, but just never had an attachment to my name. I was named after my Grandfather, Paul, whom I was VERY close to so it is odd to me that I really don't like my name." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left May 02, 2009: ""For some odd reason people always seem to always call me Pam... I don't know what it is.... but I don't think Paula is a hard name to remember! But either way I still love my name!"" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Mar 13, 2009: "I never liked my name because I grew up in France and it was pronounced Pola. People would also call me Paula Abdul. As I got older I started to like it more. It is a very professional name and some say simple and non-trendy names are linked to success (i'm a CEO of a fortune 500). Who knows?>>>" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jun 28, 2008: "I've always really liked my name "Paula". It's not common, easy to spell/pronounce, nickname proof, and it only rhymes with koala (no teasing) and it took me 25 years to think of that rhyme! It's short, sweet and classic. Way to go Mom! (Her name is Keitha which is a whole different story!)" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Mar 13, 2008: "BEST NAME EVER. SHORT AND SWEET. I'm 17 and rarely meet somebody who has this name. I am from Spain, and when there visiting summer vacation, then that's another story, there's lots of girls named Paula. Paula is very European, Spain, Portugal, Italy." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jan 10, 2008: "Classic I love my name. Paula is rich in history. For starters the name Paul in the Bible. The name belongs to St. Paula of Italy. It's of Latin origin, means small, tiny. I'm tiny. This is a classic name. I have never ever been called a nickname which I like. And I have not come across too many Paula's growing up in school. This is a great name for a little baby girl." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Apr 06, 2007: "I knew a girl called Paula and it is a wonderful name. It doesn't give any clues as to where the girl comes from, her age (because there aren't many around) or her social standing - therefore, i think it is also a very useful name." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Mar 11, 2007: "I prefer Pauline or Paulina but Paula is all right as well if a little old fashioned. I love that old sixties song 'Hey Paula' by Paul & Paula!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Dec 01, 2006: "Hi my name is Pavla that is a Czech version of Paula. Both are derived from latin and mean small also modest. Hey it is a nice name" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jul 15, 2005: "I am a Paula. People are less likely to forget your name after meeting you if it is a little different but not too different and that's what P-A-U-L-A does for me." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jun 27, 2005: "My name is Paula and I don't run into many other women with the same name. From elemantary to high school I was the only Paula in the entire school, but I had a professor in college named Paula. It's an OK name, I don't love it but I don't have any problems with it either."
