Seems like when someone pronounces the "-ie" they tend to smile as opposed to the flat "-y" sound. Although I hated it as a kid (too old fashioned :)), I love the name as an adult. People tend to remember the name which is helpful for my job. I think others tend to like it as well since I often receive compliments on the name.
