My mother originally wanted to name me Layla, but apparently my father ended up spelling it wrong on the birth certificate. I got the Y idea from a can of Lysol. I thought, great, no mistaking the "i" sound. Well, I was wrong. She is called (Layla, Lilla, Leelah), anything but Lyla.
