Comment left May 14, 2008: "my daughter is called lucia, it is prounounced lousha. i love the name. from the time i decided on the name severeal months before she was born, my neuice called her lulu, or luci lulu depending on what she is doing. it is quite annoting though when after telling people how to pronoune it they dont get it right and more often than not call her louchia. arrgh. people will remember eventually as i always correct it. i chose the name as she is my ray of light, and i thought it reflected how i felt about her even before she was born" (Report as inappropriate)

I mistakeingly get called, Lucy, Lucille,Lucinda, and LouLou. I have only met three others with my name, including my great aunt whom I was named after." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jun 08, 2007: "I'm called Lucia, coming from a deeply religious irish, catholic background, my mum called me after one of the 3 children of Fatima whom 'Our lady' appeared to. Jacinta, Francisco and Lucia.
I like my name and feel lucky to have been given, which I deem probably the most beautiful girls name I can think of.
I'm a professional, and I must say having an unusual name can work in your advantage as people remember you much more easily.
Interesting Fact: A women I met in hospital when I went in to give birth to my son, called her little girl Lucia, I'm touched and flattered!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left May 23, 2007: "I am named Lucia and am Hispanic so it is pronounced lu-see-ah. Everyone mistakes me for Italian and of course people will say Lu-chee-ah. Others say Loo-sha. I am called all by my family depending on the mood. It's one of the things I love about my name, except when people mistake it for Lucille. Besides that, I love my name, and it is uncommon. It means bright light in Latin and to some people that reminds them of Lucifer but there was a Saint Lucia so it has nothing to do with that. I was named after the girl who saw the aparition of the Virgin Mary in Fatima with her cousins. (I'm Catholic)." (Report as inappropriate)
