Comment left Aug 12, 2010: "wew!,,now i know that my name is very unique,, yeah! lois,,! hehehe :)" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Aug 06, 2010: "I was named for my grandmother. My mom told me that it is Greek and means Battle Maiden. I used to hate my name, but I love it now, because it is unique. Can you imagine in 40 or so years all the 80 year olds with names like Tiffany and Brittany?" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jun 29, 2010: "We named our new daughter Lois Olivia. We think Lois is an incredible name and will stand out in the crowd. We like the meaning, a strong female. She is named after a dear family friend who was like a grandmother to me. More power to Lois!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jun 06, 2010: "My soon to be granddaughter will be called Lois and I think its elegant yet homely and very special. I love it, very different from the silly names given today." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left May 26, 2010: "Due for a resurgence. Short, but elegant.I know it sounds old-fashioned but so did Emily a decade ago. These things come and go. In my area there is a Lois club. Only people named Lois are allowed. No kidding." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Apr 08, 2010: "My BEAUTIFUL mother is named Lois and I think is is the best name. I would love to name one of my daughters after her someday. My Mother has also never loved her name but I wish she did. She is unique, classy, elegant and has gorgeous bone structure in her face. This name definitely fits her inner and outer beauty." Comment left Mar 18, 2010: "I love my name :D my mom only gave it me because it was short and simple to spell (even tho lots of people spell it wrong haha). My name makes me feel different and individual which is what i am :D. Everybody comments on how nice my name is :). i think its a wonderful name :)" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Feb 04, 2010: "I love my Name Lois! Im from The Uk and not many people have this name... its great... Im so individual and that suits my personality down to a tee! I hate that they call me Louis or Lewis! My family and friends all call me Lo-Lo :)" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jan 20, 2010: "At first I really didn't like the name Lois, mainly because people called me louis or louise. I'm 14 and really liking the name lois. It's unique and no one in my school has it :) LOIS' Are AWESOME!! Love.xxxx" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jan 18, 2010: "My entire life has been a sea of mispronounciations with Lois. Even my English professor was unable to say it correctly! It got so bad that brother whose name is Roland just called me "Louise" and in return I called him "Ronald" My parent's stuck us both with confusing, old fashioned names. I absolutely loathed my name growing up, and never knew another Lois until in my thirties, and thought it was the most old fashioned name in the world. Now in my fifties I am finally warming up to my name and accept it for what it is, just too bad my middle name is May!!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Nov 29, 2009: "When i was 8 months pregnant with my daughter I met a lovely, beautiful and exteamly polite little girl called Lois - I fell in love with the name straight away. My beautiful daughter was born and we named her Lois ..... she too is beautiful, funny, full of personality and very individual, just like her name. She likes being called Lois and unlike a previous comment, she loves Lo-Lo too and Lowie! I had 4 girls in my class at school with the same name as me - Lisa, so it must be nice to be a bit more individual!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Oct 28, 2009: "My name is Lois and I love my mother says I have a beutiful name and she proud of it because it is original and very elegant. But what drives round the bend is when people say it is and old granny name and when people always spell it wrong and pronounce it like Lewis. Overall, I happy with my full name Lois,Elizabeth,Adams as I think it is very fpretty and original. THE NAME LOIS ROCKS!!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Aug 21, 2009: "My grandmother named me Mary Lois, she lived to be 98yrs old and I miss her dearly. She was the only person who used both names. I was born in 1965 and also grew up the only Lois in my school, neighborhood, ect.. When I was younger I didn't like my name, but I was still glad my name wasn't something over used like Lisa. I'm an RN now and my patients always remember my name, which pleases me. We don't give out last names, so when someone sends a card of thanks or praise there's no mistake it's me :D I've read all the comments left here and I can see myself thru the years in most of the entries." Comment left Aug 08, 2009: "Lois, a strong name "superior" in origin and meaning. So what if some cannot pronounce it. I say; make them work for it, they will soon remember you for your original name. Lois is sophisticated on one hand and sultry on the other. We are the few, the proud, The "Lois's" of the world stand forth, I am proud to call you my sisters." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jul 23, 2009: "My name is Lois and I view it as an curse.I was the forth daughter and it seems my parents had run out of ideas for girls names. It can not be pronounced nor spelled correctly. A day doesn't go by when you have to spell and pronounce the name and it is still murdered. Parents do not give your child a name that is so odd not even gender is recognized. Four short letters and a lifetime of explaining. I have met other women named Lois and they have hated the name." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Dec 28, 2008: "Hi Lois' out there, this is another Lois with an awesome family name too. I love my name and like all the Lois' before me, have experienced bewilderment and annoyance that people get it so wrong. One of the most annoying is, on the phone, you say your name to them, then spell it, they relay it back to you Louis, pronounced Looeee!! I would never change it, its great!! One of my friends named her daughter, now 3, Lois, so its still alive and kicking" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Nov 04, 2008: "My name is Lois and i LOVE it with passion especially now dat i jst got 2 knw dat it means "more desirable", "superior". It makes me feel special. I've not met many people bearin d name. Its a simple and beautiful name but people often misspell it and pronounce it wrongly as in Louis. I really love my name and i'll like my daughter 2 bear it cos its a name 4 beautiful, intelligent and compassionate women and she'll be all of these and more. So if ur name is Lois, dat means ur special so enjoy it." (Report as inappropriate)
