Comment left Jul 12, 2009: "My name is Lilia and I was named after my great-grandmother in Italy, who was named after the Lily the traditional flower of Florence in Tuscany. Lilia is latin for the plural of Lilies; Lilium (neuter plural for any Latin buffs). Apart from an Italian cousin, the only other Lilia I have met is from Ukraine.
I used to be embarrassed by my name as a child, so I used to abbreviate it to Lee, but then I grew into it as I grew older, and now I love it, and I know other people like it too.
Other names I have been called are, Lydia, Lillian, Lilla, Celia, Lilo, Lillie, Leila." (Report as inappropriate)

Two girls walk in and one yelled "Lilia" and I answered; they both looked at me like I was crazy. When we realized what had happened, we both had a good laugh." (Report as inappropriate)
