The correct way is 'Kayla'... but a lot of people say 'Kyla' or 'Keela'... so many people call me 'Keela' that it's one of my nicknames now! It was actually suppose to have been a very unique name as I believe my mother thought she made it up. Just recently I discovered that it actually had meaning and many more people have the name." It can be very frustrating because even if I have known people for a really long time they will take one look at my name and think that they have been saying it wrong all along. People always ask me where I come from or where my parents are from. Even my teachers will say and spell my name wrong all year. But the one thing that I love about my name is that no one else has it and thats its very unique. My parents loved the name Kayla and when they went to hawaii they saw the name Leila and new it would be interesting to merge the two names. I would highly recommend that you use this name because it is one that repreasents beauty and individualism. And even though no one else has this name I feel extremely special."
