When she was in kindergarten she didnt like her name and was teased with the car Kia, kids are silly. That was when she was five now she is 22 and loves her name! There is noone like her. So embrace all you Kaiya's however you spell it its a great name." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jan 09, 2012: "Well i spell my name kayia instead of kaiya and there is no one in my school with either one of those names can you say unique" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Dec 02, 2011: "I am a forty three year old lady, and my name is Kyya. It is the same Kyya that was on willow. I had never seen that movie, but I was at a friend's house and I heard the pronunciation of my name and was swept off my feetwhen the name was said. When I was growing up no one had that name. I use to hate the name Kyya, but when I got grown I embraced my name. Now I have people naming their children after me. I know the spelling is unusual, but the first Y is pronounced as an I, so that is what gives exception to the rule with the vowels. A,E,I,O,U and sometimes Y is pronounced as an I. I love my name Kyya." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Oct 12, 2011: "It is interesting the chart has no children names Kaiya before the 90'S ??? My daughter "Kaiya Colleen" was born in 1982 and named after a friend of mine names "Kiaya" who was born in the 60's???? another meaning of Kaiya is a variation of forgiveness... "breath of life" or new life which comes for Kai or water ... ie religious reference to baptism of new life after forgiveness..In the movie Willow it refers to the ability to be well rooted, reach out for that which sustains it and be flexible...(Kiaya is the mother figure so the name grows with your daughter)My daughter has loved the name ... as has Kiaya whom we named her after.... we are in fact sad it has grown in popularity because we enjoyed it's unique qualities and meaning... sadly even Disney has picked it up with a website "K is for Kaiya" arghhhhhhhhh! PS Spelling with any name can be an issue: Chris "Kris"; Ann Anne;Mary Marye; Kaitlin and CAITLYN... an on and on" (Report as inappropriate)

My husband and I are expecting our first child in January, not sure if its a boy or girl yet, but if it is a girl her name will be Kaiya Rose, we will find out in about 5 weeks!! My husband just randomly came across this name when we were looking for a girl name, I feel in love with it instantly!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jun 06, 2011: "We just found out that we were pregnant with our second child. Still not sure of the gender, but if the baby is a girl then her name will be Kiaya Jean. Our son is a Jr. so he has his daddy's name (Robert Andrew). This will be our way of naming her after me... my name is Angela Jean. We have always had trouble deciding on a girls name, but when we came up with this, we both fell in love! Now fingers are crossed for a girl!! <3" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jan 18, 2011: "My name is Kaiya. I was born Feb 2001. There were 2 other Kaiyas in my preschool, but I never met another after that. They spelled it Kaia. I have an American Girl doll named Kaya, also pronounced the same. I like my name. It is unique!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Dec 01, 2010: "I named my daughter Kaiya. She was born Jan 24, 2008. I named her Kaiya after her father and I struggled to agree on a name. I looked up the meaning and found it meant "diamond in the sky". I love it but people always ask how to pronounce her name. I didnt want to plague her with always having her name spelled wrong or improperly pronounced! I too have that problem...but people don't know how to pronounce the "AI"! Kai...thai...thought it was a no brainer. Oh well!" (Report as inappropriate)

I actually liked the spelling KAYA since I am a Bob Marley fan, but was overruled by my wife. Nonetheless I love the name because it is unique but not too unique and has a great meaning." Comment left Jun 10, 2010: "my name is Kaiya and i was named after Willow's wife as well. i've always had trouble with my name - teachers and strangers constantly mispronouncing it and misspelling it (i've gotten to the point where i give my middle name, Amelia, for restaurant lists). when i was young i hated it because of the trouble it gave me, but now i see the beauty in it and how unique it makes me. i love the spelling and wouldn't change my name for the world." Comment left Apr 25, 2010: "we named our daugher Kaiya. I have always loved the name and when I met my husband I told him that if I ever have a daughter I would give her this name. Well what do you know, she was born on Jan 20, 2009. My husbands name is Kaiser so we thought it would be awesome to name her Kaiya Rylea (said Riley). Her first name has part of her daddys name and her middle name has part of my middle name of Lea. LOVE THE NAME!!!" (Report as inappropriate)
