When my parents were naming me, my mom wanted to name me Hailey but my dad said he wanted my name to start with a K so they came up with Kailey. They had never heard of this name before and thought they made it up. When I was 2, we moved to a new house and there was another Kailey on my street. But she moved a couple years later. My mom is a babysitter and when she was having an interview with a pregnant couple, she introduced me to them saying my name was Kailey and they were so shocked because they planned to name their baby the same name. At the time I HATED my name because there were all the Megans, Ashleys, Emilys, etc and I felt left out since there was no one my age with that name. Them I started to get SO many compliments one my name and my dentist even named her baby after me. Now, I LOVE my name. :)" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Sep 01, 2009: "my daughter was born august 14, 2009. she is currently 2 and a half weeks old. i named her kailey. however, it is pronounced kylee not kayley. until now i have never seen this name used as kayley before. i saw it on a baby naming site for an alternate way to spell kylee, and i feel in love with it. :] i just hope that in the future she doesnt completely hate me for spelling it that way...because already people see it and automatically say kayley." With my second I did not have a girls name chosen so I added the "ey" to Kail and added it to the list of other suggestions we got from family and let my then 3yr old choose the name, and Kailey it was. So was born Kailey Michelle in 2005. Teachers at school usually have to ask me how to say my name when they call roll... But, overall I love the name! I've met a few little girls under the age of 7 with the name as well. People usually pronouce it correctly though I've been called "kyley" on many occasions. My name is pretty much always spelled wrong but that doesn't bug me because their are so man ways of spelling it that it can be confusing for people. I've received many compliments on my name."
