She always gets called Kayla by people who read the name. The Zambian pronunciation is actually Ka-EH-la. Not sure of the native meaning, but there is a small river by that name in Zambia!" Now I'm forever pronouncing it correctky for people & spelling out my name to everyone, however I do have fun with it too... if a fax/letter etc is addressed to Kayla, I don't deal with it because it's not me. Growing up I was the only Kaela I'd heard of, but now whenever I go shopping I'm always freaking out cos there is always a mum somewhere yelling "Kaela put that down", it takes me a little while to register that it's not me they're talking too. ps Kayla is the ugly way to spell Kaela" (Report as inappropriate)
