I have always liked my name, never wanted to be an Ashley or Emily, but it's sooo annoying when people pronounce it Jo-Z! It's obviously spelled with a S, so why would you pronounce it with a Z? My full name is Jocelyn, and I have only met one other girl who had the same name and nickname. I also hate the analogy to Josie and the Pussycats. YUCK!! A lot of people call me Jos for short... Ive always just gone by jossi since jossianny is kinda odd and for some reason people always go " did you say jossianna?" which is rather annoying.Funny because you think it would be easier once it was just jossi but even then people still say it wrong. Ever since i was younger i would tell my mom that i was going to legally change it to
"Josie" since it would just be easier and that way maybe people didnt pronounce it Jocie you know like hosey? which i dont get.The main reason for wanting to change it was that as long as i can remember i hated the fisrt day of class because in every single period the teacher would pause stare at the roll call sheet and then go " jocieann?" and then i would say that i go buy just Josie and the teacher would then say " Oooo like josie and the pussycats and laugh as if ive never heard that one before. but now i figure its unique and i dont think ill change it. Ive never met another person named Jossianny or just plain josie for that matter. And to think that my mom only named me that because she heard it in a spanish soap , and liked the way it sounded." I wanted to be a Jennifer, Julie or Ashley :) But now I love it. I think it's cute and original. I am usually called Joz for short. My mom called me Jo Jo, and my dad called me Jozie Wozie or Woz:) On the downside, everyone loves to say "Josie and the Pussycatts" when they meet me as if this is an extremely original and funny association. We also considered Chloe, which we found to be overused, and Claire. We decided to wait until she was born to have a look at her, and Claire just seemed a little too formal and delicate.
