Comment left May 12, 2008: "Hello everyone!
Throughout the years i have had many think that my name was a shortened form of Jessica. I went through many periods in life that i didn't like it, and felt it wasn't 'girlie' or feminine. There was even another boy in my class (spelled differently) and man did i ever get teased!! Now at age 23, i really love it. Everything happens for a reason, i truly believe it. I've created the woman i am and wouldn't want any other name!!! =)
Ms Jessie May,
from Canada" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left May 18, 2007: "There are only certain people that can pull this name off, and ones whom assume that youýre a Jessica do not fully understand what it takes to be a Jessie. With a name like Jessie comes with having to encounter many different experiencesý.being called ýJessicaý or assuming that youýre a JESSEý.it takes a real gal to pull off a name like Jessieý..believe me I knowý..itýs been a fun ride and wouldnýt change it for the world :)" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Apr 06, 2007: "My name is Jessie, and people ALWAYS assume it's Jessica. I always correct them. As for going to court over a name, I would suggest some serious family counseling as to why a simple name caused so many problems. Hint: It's not the name itself." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Feb 16, 2007: "I' m going to name my baby girl Jessie Jane. I am concern about the problems she might have with this name, but I can't find any other name that I like as much as this one. I considered the name Jessica, but I don't like that name because it reminds me of a cat eating carrots for some ODD reason. My name is Jennifer and I found it hard to live with a name this common.Jessie is a great name for any girl.My baby's nickname is going to be Jess-Jess(I already call her that)." Comment left Jan 28, 2007: "I'm 13 and my name is Jessie. I don't like this name because its always spelled wrong, people are always asking if my name is Jessica and some people just assume its Jessica. I have always suffered with this name and when I tell people my name is Jessie not Jessica they give me a glare like saying 'that's a guys name'.Please DO NOT name your child Jessie. When I grow up I'm going to change my name to something else." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jan 27, 2007: "Yet, another Jessie with the same problem.I'm 13 and I ALWAYS get ask if my name is Jessica and some people just assume it is ,even tearchers call me Jessica. The name Jessie is a real social nightmare. I do get some Jesse's in my classes being a popular name for boys. People never spell it right and usually miss the 'i'. At least now I know that I'm not the only in the world with problems with this name.*I'm BEGGING my parents to change my name.*" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jan 25, 2007: "This use to be my name and I'm 13. My mother and father paid a lawyer and went to court to change my name. People ask me if my name is Jessica or they just assume it is.I have a Jesse in one of my class and it's really annoying(I'm sure he is annoyed too). It's a nice name, but from my experiences and peoples experiences with this name I wouldn't name your child this." Comment left Jan 17, 2007: "well it's my name, I'm 14. Many people tend to call me Jessica even though it's just Jessie, It's frustrating when they can't call you just Jessie. They think it's a nickname, so they add endings to my name...even if you clearly inform people otherwise. And the name Jessie origninated from America, and DON'T forget to add the "i" so it's not a boy's name!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Dec 31, 2006: "I'm a girl and my name is Jessie. I just recently changed my name to Jessica. I love this name, but people always write it wrong or think my name is Jessica. Once in a while I get a Jesse(boy) in my class and they always confuse us.I've always been nagging my mom about this and now she took action. My legal name now is Jessica." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Dec 29, 2006: "My name's Jessica and I wish I was just Jessie. It is more fitting for someone who is not a girly-girl." (Report as inappropriate)

Then I say to them my name is not Jessica it's Jessie and then they say yeah whatever. When some people write my name, they spell it "Jesse" but I tell them no again and tell them you spell it "Jessie"." (Report as inappropriate)
