Comment left May 09, 2010: "My daughter's name is Jessie. Not JESSICA. Her friends and teachers mistakenly call her Jessica. It drives us both nuts. Her name is Jessie Elaine. We love the name. It's unique but not off the wall like were trying too hard." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jan 08, 2010: "I love my name too. I just wish people would stop thinking my name is Jessica!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Sep 08, 2009: "I've only had a few problems with people concerning my name. Firstly, people would usually spell it incorrectly 'Jesse' or even 'Jessy' although it is spelled 'Jessie'. However, the most outrageous incident was when I received my grade 8 honours roll, and they put 'Jessica' on it! I was honestly upset, because my official name on my birth certificate clearly says it is JESSIE, not some other variation ,yet the office felt the need to make up some name to put on my honours roll? However, I am proud of my name, some people just need to stop trying to use some other variation of it." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Aug 28, 2009: "I love my name, I was named after my grandmother. And yes, I too have had to defend my name; it's not Jessica and it's not a boys name, lol.
When I was in the 4th grade, we had a substitute teacher, and when she called role she didn't call my name, but called out Jessica. I know she was calling me, but I didn't respond because she didn't say my name right. So long story short, I was sent to the principles office because of it, but I didn't get in trouble because I told the principle that the sub should learn how to read since it clearly said Jessie on the role!
But I love my name, I wouldn't change it for anything! It's not a "social nightmare" as one person stated on here, but rather a unique name to give a unique and beautiful child.
With a name like Jessie it's almost a guarantee that this person is not going to be a conformist!! We are nice, but when it comes to our names, we will stick up for ourselves, and politely inform anyone of mispellings." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jun 17, 2009: "I was named after my father's Nickname, but he spells it with the boys version. I used to REALLY HATE it growing up, especially when people would argue with me as to whether my name was Jessica or Jessie (seriously, You'd think I'd know my own name!). And people ALWAYS spell it wrong, either without the I or the ie and with a Y. Grr. But, as I've gotten older, I've really embraced it. I can't imagine being anything else, even though it strikes me as an odd name. It definitely builds character, we Jessie(s) have spunk. We're not usually girly-girls, but we can be when we want. We can be shy, or have attitude (especially when arguing about our name). Its a name that has to grow with you. I agree, not everyone can pull it off. I hate the name Jessica though." Comment left May 12, 2008: "Hello everyone!
Throughout the years i have had many think that my name was a shortened form of Jessica. I went through many periods in life that i didn't like it, and felt it wasn't 'girlie' or feminine. There was even another boy in my class (spelled differently) and man did i ever get teased!! Now at age 23, i really love it. Everything happens for a reason, i truly believe it. I've created the woman i am and wouldn't want any other name!!! =)
Ms Jessie May,
from Canada" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left May 18, 2007: "There are only certain people that can pull this name off, and ones whom assume that youýre a Jessica do not fully understand what it takes to be a Jessie. With a name like Jessie comes with having to encounter many different experiencesý.being called ýJessicaý or assuming that youýre a JESSEý.it takes a real gal to pull off a name like Jessieý..believe me I knowý..itýs been a fun ride and wouldnýt change it for the world :)" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Apr 21, 2007: "I'm fifteen right now, and my sister named me Jessie when I was born. She was six, so I was naturally named after Uncle Jesse from Full House. It's a fun fact to tell, I guess. I never really liked my name, it just gives me a strange feeling or vibe. Maybe it's just because it's my own name. But like everyone else, I can't stand people assuming that I'm a Jessica, or a Jesse. But now that someone else said it, I prefer it over Jessica. I don't know, I think it's alright. But I wouldn't have given this name to me. It's one of the ones that you can't mold to fit you. You have to either mold to fit it, or just take on the oxymoron roll, I suppose."
