My best friend came up with it, and I always tell my mom she should've at least spelled it cool/different for giving me such a common name. That part does get annoying. I'm going to be a Freshman this upcoming year and in my 8th grade Health class, there were FOUR Jessicas'! That's a lttle ridiculous. I counted at least eleven in my grade-yearbook one year. I don't hate the name. Just the common factor. I like being different. However, it does give me a chance to prove people wrong about "common name, common person." Imagine my parents chagrin when we moved back to Canada and even in a small town of 5000 there were 4 other Jessicas in my high school.
It's my name...couldn't imagine any other. I HATE when people shorten it to Jessie and will not be shy about saying so, but my good friends all call me Jess. It may be a common name, but I've made it my own." (Report as inappropriate)
