Ila is also the name of the Hindu goddess of sacred speech and is recognised as the daughter of Manu (in Hindu traditions, Manu is a title accorded to the first man), having arisen from a sacrifice which Manu performed for the purpose of obtaining off-spring. I like the name but sometimes people give me funny looks when i say it. But in the end they say something like 'very nice' which is lame but still reasuring.
