I'm a rather spunky and unique individual and love being myself. The name has never really bothered me. Only person to call me holls is my brother. I get Hollz or Hollzie as well. Some friends call me 'Holly the dolly' but that's fine. I rather like being able to have a nickname at all with such a short name. :) Don't be afraid to name people Holly. (11/11) heehee its an awsome date make a wish lmao. but anyways i like the name cause its not to gurly. cause im a chick thats into screemo heavy metal. so bands like asking alexandria, bullet for my valentine, and slipknot.! lol. its also a name not too too comen like ive known a couple other holly's but not many. ha and i think holly is a brunet name. ahaha im ive got dark brown hair. its so pretty too. i have so many nicknames some of them kool like holister (even though im a hot topic chick) and hollykinz. Comment left Jun 03, 2010: "Holly is an absolutely wonderful name. It is also mine. People often say, "You know how many 'Holly's are out there?". But, I have only ever met two Hollys. People don't normally spell my name wrong. However, I do get the occassional, "Oh, you must be a slut, with the same name as Holly Madison!" or "Hoe-lee! Cum' ere!". I still love the name though. It is so fun to write, especially in cursive. The loopy 'l's and the y make it absolutely adorable, yet it can also be professional. I can imagine a little toddler, a 9 year old, a 17 year old, or even a 50 year old with this name. I have never met an ugly Holly, and I am constantly told how beautiful I am :) I hate the nicknames "Holls" or "Holl". Please refrain from calling us that! However, I'd love to be called "Hollyberry"! I am a Christmas baby, born on the 23th of December, and people are always fascinated when I tell them that. I do get some jokes about that though, such as, "hey, holly jolly christmas!!". I am okay with that though, because there is a nickname for every name. I have never read Breakfast and Tiffany's, but I am sometimes called Holly Golightly! Overall, Holly is a wonderful name that suffers little and lasts a life time. I HATE being called holl or holls and the nic name by which be call me by (even thinking its my real name) is hops. I love that nic name. All the hollys I know are blonde like myself. But sadly I do not personally know one strikingly beautiful Holly. I am learning to appreciate my name slowly cause I really dislike it. Whenever I would drop my car off to be serviced the fellas there would always misspell my name as Holley. They used that spelling because of Holley carburetors which are apparently a high performance auto part. I asked how to spell it a lot(I always say, "The right way, H O L L Y."), but that's alright. What *is* kind of obnoxious is that my married name is Green. Yes, I am Holly Green. That's LOADS of fun at Christmas time, especially since I'm an August baby anyway! Also, I don't like being called "Holls" or "Holl". It's one more syllable, people, you can do it! lol!
