Comment left Nov 19, 2009: "I love my name! I'm 15, and i've gotten used to constantly being referred to as Hayley. My parents named me after a friend of theirs named Hallie Stillwell and I'm proud of their decision, as I've yet to see very many Hallie's, so it makes me feel unique." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Nov 07, 2009: "My 5 year old daughter's name is Hallie. Hallie Leilani (middle name). I didn't expect the constant Hayley's. When she was four I told her that when people call her Hayley, she must say "it's Haley." And she does. She absolutely adores the name and it suits her completely." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Oct 25, 2009: "I am a 13 year old Hallie and I love my name to death. My parents actually got from the old western "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance". A woman named Hallie was the love interest of both Jimmy Stewart and John Wayne. I always thought that was cool:)
Yes I do get mispronunciations even from people that I know. Recently a boy I knew from the year before saw me and said "Hey Haley!" and was 100% positive that I was messing with him when I said it was Hallie, NOT Haley." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Oct 21, 2009: "I'm a Hallie (N) too but it doesn't really get mispronounced much. I'v been called the nick names hal and Lee before though" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Oct 14, 2009: "Wow i couldnt agree more my name is so mispronounced even by my relatives sometimes i feel the pain but i wouldnt trade my name for any other in the world! Thanx mom!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Oct 10, 2009: "I am a Hallie also - love my name so much! But I have the same problem as everyone else with being mispronounced Hayley. I dont get why people dont understand phonics!? Also, even after correcting the pronunciation time and time again, there are just some people who simply cannot say it right...i dont understand why!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Sep 26, 2009: "My name is Hallie but people call me Halle Berry because my last name starts with a B. So yeah but I love my name :)" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Sep 20, 2009: "I am a 52 year old Hallie and never heard anyone with my name except my friends grandma who was 60 when I was 8.I worked at JCPenney&my bridal customer named her daughter after me! Crazy thing, one christmas saw 2 cabbage patch dolls named Hallie & Cami &wanted to hold them, lady said those were her twin neices names ! Then was working with Donna in dresses and each of us kept hearing our names called ? Found out there were 2 ladies in fitting room named Hallie & Donna who were best friends! My friends just call me HalleBerry orHallie or Holly which is how southern people pronounce Hallie." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Sep 17, 2009: "We named our daughter Hallie when she was born in Feb 09. I love it. It fits her perfectly. However, the nurses always mis pronounce it. And a LOT of people call her Hayley. I always hear, well I wasn't sure if I should say it how its spelled or not. Her middle name is Marie that is why we went with the spelling instead of Halle, which everyone seems to understand that pronounciation." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Aug 21, 2009: "I'm a sixteen year old Hallie and I love my name, even if people always mispronounce it.
It's easy to go ahead and just tell them it is pronounced like 'Halle Berry'. Makes things easier." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Aug 05, 2009: "My name is Hallie! I like my name most of the time. As of said 2390587409534 times,I HATE* when people mispronounce it! ): I just (try) to politely tell them its Hallie." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Aug 03, 2009: "Love this name, my baby girl is due in Spetember and this is the name I have chosen. Love it!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jul 16, 2009: "I am a 44 year old Hallie, when I was a teen I HATED my name so much I went by my middle name "Mindy". Now I love the fact that my name is unusual, even though I get frustrated by the mispronunciation of, the name, I have been called "Holly", "Hailey", "Hattie", and one of my friends fathers thought my name was "HOWIE", he called me that for all most a week and finally asked me why my parents would give me a mans name, I had to tell him "Hallie, Like Sally, but with an H"!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jul 15, 2009: "I am a 70 year Hallie and like my unique name. People wouldn't call us Haley if they knew the rules of phonetics. A vowel with a double consonant has a short sound. They don't call Holly holy! I enjoy telling those that say they have never heard the name that it is in the song "Listen to the Mockingbird" written in the 1860's." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jul 03, 2009: "My name is also Hallie. I get a bit frustrated with the name sometimes because it is often mispronounced. I don't think I have ever been called holly, but almost everyone I meet has trouble pronouncing my name. Most people will either say kallie, hayley, or just have a hard time getting past the h, and I have to repeat it. When I am with my friends, they often correct anyone who pronounces it incorrectly."
