User Comments about the name Hallie
Comment left Aug 28, 2008: "I have known exactly one woman named Hallie in my lifetime. I dated her in high school and I just adored her. She was born in 1958, smack in the middle of that weirdly empty period after WWII when practically no girls were being named Hallie. I loved the many unusual things about her.
The name Hallie has a 19th-century ring to it, since it was mentioned in the Civil-War-era song "Listen to the Mockingbird" (which became the theme music for the Three Stooges, but that's irrelevant here)" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Aug 24, 2008: "Hey I'm also Hallie! This is so funny because so many other Hallie's have the same problem! I'm 18 years old and I'm a waitress. It gets very annoying when first timer's call me "Hayley" (which I hate with a passion, its phonetically correct to say Hallie with a short a!), Holly, Sally, or whatever. I eventually have to tell them "Like Halle Barry" and then they think I'm conceited because they think I'm comparing myself to her! Anyways, even my most of my relatives cant get my name right. I was named after my great-great grandmother and most people find that odd considering that the name has made a comeback in the 90's. But other than that I LOVE my unique name and the wonderful identity that comes with it. Theres no "Sarah/Ashley/Emily who?" when talking about me!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Aug 21, 2008: "I named my little girl Hallie in 2000, and we have spent years correcting people who want to call her "Haley." Come one, now, it is simple phonetics, people ~ double consonant = short vowel sound. We love the name, and so does she. She doesn't mind correcting people, and is proud to have a name that is just a little bit different than all of the Haleys her age." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Aug 17, 2008: "My name is also Hallie and i am 9 years old i thought i was the only one named Hallie. People mistake my name too. my teacher always called me Halle berry insted of Hallie Bilbrey." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Aug 16, 2008: "Cool site. I had no idea so many people shared my wonderfully unique name! The most unusual thing i've ever been called was Hellie?! Am I really that bad? As a kid I wanted to be known by my middle name, which was much more common, but now I love my name - mispronunciations and all!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Aug 12, 2008: "I have a daughter who is going to be turning 9 everyone calls her Hayley, Sally and Holly it's very irritating. Even after correcting them several times they still get it wrong. We wanted Hallie to have a different name that stood out from all the rest." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Aug 09, 2008: "my name is hallie and i am 11 years old i have only met one hallie and i think this website is really cool cuz there r sooo many hallies that left comments any way i always get called hayley but now i just respond 2 both i it is kinda like i have 2 names!!! hahaha

Comment left Aug 08, 2008: "My name is Hallie and I love it. No one else has the name as much as any standard name like rebecca or anything, but I get Holly, Hayley, Wholly, Callie, Helly, Helee anything anymore, I LOVE my name! <33" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Aug 06, 2008: "My parents loved the name Hallie because of it's meaning, and also because it's one of the few pretty names that goes with my middle and last names. I think my name is beautiful, but I'm used to people messing it up. It's gotten to the point where I don't even notice when people call me Haley. I used to dislike having a unique name, but I have come to love it." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Aug 05, 2008: "My name is Hallie and people always say it wrong. I even have a couple of friends that cant get it right. I always say Hallie.. Like halle berry" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Aug 03, 2008: "My name is Hallie, I get the same thing, people always call me Haley. But I love my name!! My Dad calls me Peas, so I really really love my name." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Aug 01, 2008: "i'm a Hallie too. i get as much mispronouciation as i get compliments on it, which is quite a bit. i have never really minded having it said wrong unless it is someone i have met more than three or four times. it's annoying when people continually get it wrong and say it is "because they know a hayley". lame excuse. anyway, i'm named after my mother's maiden name which was Halliday. i answer to basically anything with an ie or a y at the end. When i was a kid i was always really bummed out that i couldn't buy those little key chains with my name on it. Overall, it is nice to have a beautiful and unique name even if some people get it wrong." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jul 31, 2008: "My name is Hallie and I am seven. I like my name because not many people have it in Australia (where I live). I like my name because it is very special. Relief teachers and new people I meet either call me Hayley or Holly (or my doctor calls me 'Horley'!!) but then they try hard to remember it right." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jul 30, 2008: "all the time people are calling me hailey and im like oh its hallie.. sometimes its annoying but im proud of my name just like all the other hallie's in the world." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jul 29, 2008: "I named my daugter Hallie in 1999 partially because of the meaning "thinking of the sea" and partially because I think it is not common but not weird. I think it is a beautiful name and would be mispronounced no matter how you spell it! All Hallie's should get the word out on pronunciation. Hallie is a strong beautiful name and I will always love it!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jul 29, 2008: "My name is Hallie. I was named after my great grandmother. I love my name. I have never met anyone else named Hallie. I have been called Haley, Holly, Allie, Callie. It used to really bother me that no one could say my name but im used to it now. I usually correct people a couple of times, but after a while I get tired of trying." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jul 29, 2008: "Hey all you Hallie's! My name is Hallie and like most of you, I gey Holly and Hayley a lot. It's a rare find when someone comes straight out and says 'Hallie'. And when they do I know I'm going to like that person. I didn't like my name in the begginning. Only because people couldn't pronounce it. Then later I ignored it and basically went by Hayley. But then I statred correcting people because I think my name is unique and now I ABSOLUTLEY love it! I didn't even know that there we this many Hallies! Sweet!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jul 25, 2008: "I named my daughter (born in May) "Hallie." I was so surprised that everyone says "Haley" at first but we like to tell people "It's Hallie, like Halelujah! So now we call her Hallie Lulu cause it sounds so similar." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jul 24, 2008: "i might name my daughter Hallie. I love it because like everyone has said, it is different without being unusual. It is cute and pretty. I also like the name Tessa for a girl though." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jul 23, 2008: "Wow reading these comments seems so funny to me because i thought i was the only one that introduced myself as Hallie like Halle Berry... Its nice to know i'm not the only one who does that ha" (Report as inappropriate)
