User Comments about the name Giselle
Comment left Oct 27, 2008: "My father named me Giselle because he thought it was the most beautiful name he had ever heard and people who learn my name also think its beautiful. The "G" souds like the "j" in "Deja vous": Gi-zel. my friends call me Zel or Zellie, and although I'm never called Gigi, I think its a great nick-name! my name is often mispelled or said wrong, and in German it is pronounced GEE ZUH LUH. My french teacher called me "Giselle la Belle"" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Nov 26, 2007: "Giselle is beautiful name!! Don't let people make fun of your name. Be proud of the name your mother, or whoever named you, gave you that name!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Sep 11, 2007: "MY name is Gisele (with one L). I go by Gigi, because people would often pronounce my name wrong. But now because of Gisele Býndchen, (the famous model) more people pronounce it correctly now. I think it is a very beautiful name, and am often told so." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Feb 18, 2007: "I love this name! One of my friends is named Giselle. She prononces it "jih-zell" or "gizzy" for short." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jan 04, 2007: "Very very pretty. I prefer the spelling Gisele. I think that is the French way. Extremely beautiful and feminine, while still strong. The only problem is the dirty word jizz :/" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jan 04, 2007: "I have this name and wouldn't change it for anything else. Ive had plenty of people tell me how pretty it is. I pronounce it by saying "Ji-sell" which appears to be one of the less common ways to pronounce the name. To be honest, at least half the time when meeting new people they mis-pronounce my name or spell it incorrectly. Their most common guesses are "Gi-sell" "Gi-zell" or "Ji-zell". Ive gotten used to correcting people and it doesn't bother me. I understand because nearly everyone I've met has never heard of my name. I've met one person in my life with the same name as myself. We were both "shocked and amazed"! :) She pronounced her name the same way as me..." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Nov 02, 2006: "My name has always been Giselle, and sometimes it's frustrating when people spell it wrong. I'm sure some people think I must be conceited to have a name like I do, but I rather like it. It's not very common, and yet it's not too exotic that it sounds forced. I do, however, like the official french nickname for it: Gigi.
The correct way to say this name is "Gih-sehll", with a gentle emphasis on the second part of the name. To be frank, and maybe I'm just biased, I like my spelling better than the one with two s's. It just looks less forced and more natural to me.
A final word of advice for people with the name Giselle: just be yourself. It's a great name that I've held for sixteen years running so far, and I'm proud to wear it long and proud." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jun 12, 2005: "i named my second daughter gisselle , and i love it so does she gisselle is now 6 years old and everyone who hears her name thinks its wonderful its unique and exsotic ." (Report as inappropriate)
