Comment left Jul 31, 2007: "My grandmother's sister was named Garnet Dempsey (Bonda, after she was married). She lived in Eastern Kentucky and helped raise my father. I am planning on naming my daughter after this amazing woman. Garnet was never able to have children of her own, so I think this will be a fitting tribute to her. Garnet had a lot of "issues" but was the town beauty (her parents founded a small town in Eastern Kentucky and were quite well-to-do). I love this name - it's unique, pretty, strong, historic, and has a lot of personal meaning to me." (Report as inappropriate)
