Comment left May 20, 2008: "My name is Effie and I love it. You occasionally get the F-U comments and
people think they are cool when they
say that and I just say do you think
your the first one to say that! I got
named Effie because of a relative & I
am Greek." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Mar 11, 2008: "I really like this name for a girl. I think that in 2008 unique names are the best. And I like the Greek meaning of the name
"well spoken". I think that it would set up daughters for a successful career." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jun 14, 2007: "When I was a child, I thought that the name Effie was too outdated. I didn't feel like I fit in with a younger crowd. Now I am 22 years old and I absolutely love my name. I wouldn't change it for the world. People are able to remember me readily, and find my name interesting. There is a proper way to pronounce it. Its like saying the letters "F" and "E" in that order. Once in a great while, someone will pronounce it "E-fee". Not hard to correct though. Many people have no trouble spelling it either. I have only met 2 other girls named Effie. One was 87 when I was 5 years old, and the other was my age. I love my name!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jan 24, 2007: "I was named after my great grandmother, my family is from England, maybe it's an English name?? Anyway, I LOVE my name, it's great not being named "Ashley" or "Amanda" or one of those names that's so common right now." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jun 07, 2006: "Two women in my family were named Effie. One was Elizabeth with the nickname Effie, and the other was her daughter, named Effie. They were neither Ghanaian nor Greek. They were Swiss German Mennonites." (Report as inappropriate)
