Most people think that I am a boy though until I meet them. My best friend told some of her friends from church about me and they started teasing her about me being her boyfriend because they thought I was a guy. But overall I guess it's an OK name." I haven't met many other girls with the same name and spelling (I've met a Devan, a Devyn, a Devon, etc.) so I like to think it's pretty rare and what makes me unique. Of course people tend to assume I'm a boy when they first hear my name, but I've just learned to laugh and shrug it off. They can obviously tell I'm a girl when they meet me so it doesn't really matter. The name Devin for girls is definitely becoming more popular, though." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Feb 01, 2008: "well first off my name is spellt, D-e-v-y-n. it has been vary hard have this name at some points in my life. In kindergarden through 5th grade there was another Devan in my classes. So when ever the teacher would call on one of us we would'nt know who they were talking to. Now Devan is not in my classes any more but he still goes to the same school as me, so its somewhat still hard. Also, people would joke around saying tht it would be weird if we got married then we would be Devyn and Devan Warner. My name is kara and when we were babies people used to think that we were boy/girl twins because devan can be a boys name. They also thought that we were boy/girl because kara is such a girly name and so is grace (my older sister's name) so people thought that devan would have a girlier name.

Many people automatically assume that I am a guy and I haven't met too many people with the same name. Overall, being a girl, I really do like it.
