In my litlle hometown(I come from a small countryside town in Norway with only thousand inhabitants.) there are actually three of us. My grandmothers name is Dagny, my name is Dagny Irene and a friends mother is also Dagny Irene. Dagny Irene means "a new day with peace". I love that combination, even though it's a long doubble name, but it makes the "new day"-part more special with peace.." (Report as inappropriate)

It's Scandinavian for "New Day" or "Dawn". Overall, I recieve alot of positive feedback on my name, even if it takes the person a few tries to say it right. My name was so different and no one could ever get it right or spell it right and I got made fun of a lot. But as I got older, I came to love it. I have never met another person with the name Dagny and that intrigues me. I want to but I think it would be very odd. I am so happy that it is my name now. It has really become who I am.
