My husband loves telling people my wife Cody and he get the funniest looks cause everyone thinks he married to a guy.haha. I do get annoyed with people on the phone and I have to tell people yes this is her and yes Cody is a girls name too." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Dec 17, 2008: "My name is Cody - pronounced "CO-dee". People sometimes call me Cory, and I was confused with a Jodi I knew as a child. I'm a female, and females with my name usually spell it "Codie" or "Codi" from what I hear, but neither are correct in my case. I have even had my name misspelled as Koty.
And yes, my given first name is Cody, not Dakota, so please stop asking, and thanks for letting me know that your nephew's name is Cody, too, and that your cousin has a dog named Cody.
I now attach my more feminine middle name to my first name online and on paper, so that a prospective employer or friend will understand that I'm a female before skipping over the gender question. I get comments from coworkers and customers as to how unique my name is, and I love the attention, to be honest - it also gives me a chance to reach out to people and smile, instead of simply saying, "Next please."
It's still annoying sometimes though. I've only met one other girl with a name similar to mine - she spells it "Codie" - and I personally know three boys with the name. I was a tomboy growing up, although my parents did their best, and now I'm happily married and actually starting to like the color pink." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jul 08, 2008: "my name is C-O-D-Y and yes I am a GIRL. Most girls that have my name spell it different so when someone ask I say it's the boy way. I think it fits me though because I am a bit of a tom boi." (Report as inappropriate)
