User Comments about the name Christie

Comment left Jan 20, 2010: "I have always loved my name (CHRISTIE) No one ever spells it right and you can never find anything with your name on it, but that dosne't bother me. It is unique." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Oct 04, 2009: "Atleast I was named Christine, because if I was at school and if my name was Christie, everyone would probably call me Mr. Christie. But I do wish I could have Christie as a nickname, but I can't because everyone thinks my name is too beautiful for a nickname." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jan 05, 2009: "HI MY NAMES CHRISTIE, IM IN SECONDARY SCHOOL BUT I HATE MY NAME, EVERYONE ELSE HAS COMMON NAMES LIKE, HANNAH AND LUCY, BUT THERES ME WITH CHRISTIE, HAS ANYONE THOUGHT OF ANY NICKNAMES, EXCEPT CHRISSY, CHRISSIE, CHRIS AND STUFF ??? PLEASE !!!" (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left Oct 26, 2008: "They call me chrissy Christina Christine or Kirsty" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Oct 19, 2008: "This is my name! I've only met one other person with my name before, and she spelt it Kristy. It infuriates me though when people spell it with a K, Y, no H, whatever, and when people call me Christine or Kirsty. The worst bit is, it's short for Christian which seems to be a boys name now so everyone's like "why've you got a boys name?" and I have to tell the story of it's female origins!" (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left Aug 02, 2008: "Hey fellow Christie's!!! I always used to HATE my name because people would spell it wrong, and I only found 2 things in my whole life with my name spelt correctly on it. Buuuuut, I'm starting to like it now. Its not like I can change it or anything. I tried a nickname, but I couldnt think of any good ones... Plus too many people already knew me, and going up to them and saying, for example, 'Hey ___! Call me Christa from now on!!!' I already had a Krista in some of my classes, so that wouldnt work anyways. I have only came across someone with the same spelling once at Sea World... She was the operater of the Clydsdale Ranch, but i g2g do a paper on my name now! Bye!" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jul 09, 2008: "I love my name CHRISTIE im from the island of Roatan, its too bad that most people cant spell it right." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jul 02, 2008: "i live in the uk and christie is not a common name here. i have only met one other christie here and i am 32 now. i love my name. it is a popular irish boys name, my mother is half irish and my father spent 10 years in the usa so both settled on the name. :)" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jun 17, 2008: "I could carless for my name... I tell my mother she must have gotten it out of a gumball machine... It reminds me of a call girl. Then I just have to remind my self of "Christie's" in New York. However I tend to be a bit of a tomboy so since I was a child everyone has called me Chris eventhough I out grew my silly boyish was around 7. And I'm with the others no one ever spells it right I got to the point of just saying it's Christ-i-e... It helped me learn to spell Christmas though. ;)" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left May 09, 2008: "This is my name; ive never had a nickname because I like it so much! Even as a child, I've always insisted that people call me "christie", not "chis" or "christine" or "chrissy", etc. I've always loved my name, even though my mom has often told me that she wonders if she should have given it a more generic spelling. They decided to name me christie because the first time they felt me move was christmas morning. Then, months later, I was delivered by a man named Dr. Christmas! My family is religious, so it seemed appropriate. I love it; no matter where I go, I always keep my heritage with me whenever I sign my name." (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left Apr 28, 2008: "I love my name... too bad people never spell it right! its CHRISTIE, not Christy, or Kristie!" (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left Apr 21, 2008: "This is my name, although my formal name is Christine. While I never disliked it, I always wished I had a more unique, origional name. Of course, unique names are now the norm so perhaps this traditional name will actually be more uncommon. I always have to spell it out since there are so many different spellings of it and people seem to have a hard time remembering it because there are so many Chris...type names. For some reason, people I have only met once before often remember it as Cindy. Go figure." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Mar 20, 2008: "My name is Christie and I love my name. When I was a child I used to get so angry that I couldn't find my name spelled correctly on pencils, mugs, etc...but, I love having a more unique spelling now." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jan 22, 2008: "hello. if you want to know about i will tell you. a lot of people spell my name wrong. they spell it like kristi, but it's really spelled christie. i have only met one person with the name spelled exactly like mine. but i have met a lot of people with the same name it is just spelled differently." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Mar 15, 2007: "I Grew Up In South Pasadena California Where There Were Four Christie's In My Classroom Every Year! Most Years We Were Identified By Our Last Names To Keep The Class And Teacher Sane ....and The Spellings Were Always Confused! Pronounciation Was And Always Has Been Easy For Most But It Seems That This Easy Name Has Always Been Plagued By Confusion, Oh And I Can Cash A Check Made Out To Christi, Christina, Chris, Christine, Kristen And So On And So On! Most People Who Read It On Paper Automatically Assume That I Am Caucasian But Upon Meeting Tell Me I Am The First Mixed Race Person They Have Ever Known With That Name - My Mom Says She Gave It To Me To Give Me A Chance To Do Anything I Wanted Without Any Judgement Before People Met Me ... It Worked." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Mar 07, 2007: "I love this name! I'm biased because I am a follower of Christ. Is refreshing because of all of the Ashley's, Brittany's and Amanda. I think Christie is classic name because of it's meaning, follower of Christ." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Oct 26, 2006: "This is my friends name. I love it. Only she spells it Cristie. Everyone trys to spell it Christie or Christy. She offten gets mad. I wish this were my name though." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Feb 08, 2006: "most everyone asks if it is my real name or if christine is..i've gotten used to christine by now and don't even correct teachers anymore." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Feb 03, 2006: "It's my name and I can't say I like it. People always spell it wrong, or add an "n" to make it "Christine," or are *convinced* that it's short for something (when it's not). As for finding things that are already personalized with my name - forget it - you'll find every other spelling for "Christie" except the one you're looking for. Meeting someone who spells "Christie" like I do is like finding someone who looks like you - it's just that rare." (Report as inappropriate)
