Comment left Nov 19, 2009: "My name is Christen as well. My mother's name is Christina and my parents wanted to give me a name that was close to hers. I am I don't know many people with the name "Kristen/Christen/Kristin", fewer whose name is spelled with a "CH," and even fewer who are african american. The only other "Christen" I met was white, and funny thing is I was the first black person she met w/ her name spelled the exact way! I have grown to like my name and the way it is spelled (in the 1st grade I purposely spelled it "Kristin" just like my best friend @ the time.) I will one day name my daughter a variation of it, or will give it to her as a middle name. It's nice to see I'm not the only "CHRISTEN" around!!! ;-)" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Sep 11, 2009: "I named my daughter Christen because it is my favorite name. I spelled it with a "Ch" because my husband's name is Christopher." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Aug 05, 2009: "My name is Christen, and I think it is so unique! I also love how it has religious meaning." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Mar 25, 2009: "thats my name! whoo my mom said she named me it because it was a christian name,,specifically christen because kristen or kristin is too ordinary.." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Dec 10, 2008: "Christen is my middle name. My mom thought the K would be too harsh, so she went with Ch... LOL! I like it ok... I like that it means to live for Christ! And my first name is Stacia which means ressurection, so my full name has great meaning and depth!!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jun 28, 2008: "This is my name and it ends up spelled wrong almost 100% of the time. People also think that I am a guy. I was born in 1969 and my parents attempted to give me an unususal name and it backfired, there were 4 variations in kindergarden" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Apr 02, 2008: "people always spell my name wrong and pronounce it wrong. i normally get, kirsten, christine, Christain, Chrystall. oh well i suppose life goes on. :D" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Feb 12, 2008: "I do like that it is a fairly common name but spelled in a unique way. Unfortunately, people do mispronounce it and misspell it... a lot. But, it teaches someone to be patient!!!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Nov 15, 2007: "My name is Christen also, and I love it. Its true that alot of people tend to mis-spell it. I've been called Christain, and occationally Christine. I've never met another person with the same spelling, and I think your child will love it." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Nov 07, 2007: "I LOVE my name (Christen)! I think it's a unique twist on a common name which gives me the best of both worlds: people remember you, but not so odd that it might cause embarrassment (now or in the future). I've met only 2 other people w/ the same spelling and know of a third. Also, at 38 I still receive compliments on my name--especially the spelling--from people generations younger than me. That said, the only minor annoyance is that some people mispronounce it as either, "Christian" or "Christine"...I've even gotten a few "Christina's" though I'm not sure how people made that link." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left May 07, 2006: "people often spell or pronouce my name wrong because there are so many different ways to pronounce and spell it. plus this name can make other names like christine or christal or christy." (Report as inappropriate)
