I ran into a million people who called me Selena whith the rise of the singer but then Celine Dion came to infamy and now it is a common name. You will see many little girls especially in CA so named. Hopefully the name will loose popularity in time. I was named for my French grandmother who rode a cow to school." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Apr 29, 2008: "I was named after my french grandmother who lived in a convent. This name was unheard of until Celine Dion and now is a common name that is no longer stange and beautiful. I was called C-line by mistake in the 70's and 80's then mistakenly called Selena. I miss when the name was misspronounced but belonged only to me." (Report as inappropriate)
