Comment left Jul 28, 2008: "I love the name 'Carrie.' A lot of friends don't want to call me anything else, because they think that the name Carrie is exactly right for me!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jun 18, 2008: "Carrie is a sweet name. My mom's coworker's name is Carrie. I think it's beautiful." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Apr 18, 2008: "My name is Carrie, it's an okay name, the only down thing is there's no short form for them name... car? care? curry?? *mei*" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Apr 04, 2008: "My name is Carrie Sue. I just go by Carrie, which I like, but many people (I've always lived in the South) want to call me Carrie Sue, which I don't care for. I love the "traditional" spelling of this name and don't really like any of the more trendy ways to spell it: Keri, Kari, Kerri, etc. When I first meet people, they think I'm saying Terri, Karen, or something similar and that gets annoying." Comment left Mar 14, 2008: "Everytime I see this name, I think of the movie "Carrie" with the girl who had telekinesis." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Dec 09, 2007: "This is my name (named in the 70's) but I was named for my Great-Grandmother born in 1897. My name had nothing to do with the novel by King." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jul 28, 2007: "My name is Carrie Ophelia. My sister Sophie Jane and I work part time at a vets shop. We're lovin life and our sexy names. :-)" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jun 07, 2007: "love how it is spelled. It reminds me of the movie crazy carrie." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Apr 13, 2007: "My mother's name is Carrie, and while I never found it offensive, she has often complained about it and even went so far as to acquire an unrelated nickname. Her complaints were: the book/movie, the word "carry", the hard C sound, and the fact that her estranged father named her. It's probably that last complaint that seals it; I bet that for most people Carrie is a fine name." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Mar 01, 2007: "My name is Carrie. It is welsh for love, although its not spelt the welsh way. I dont really like it. I would rather another name. I rather people calling me Carrie-Lou. People often spell it rong and when im asked what my name is they cant seem to pronounce it right or they hear the rong name. i guess its sort of pretty." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Feb 18, 2007: "Ilove the name Carrie. My aunt's names are Carrie, Carolyn and Caroline." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jan 25, 2007: "My name is Carrie Lynn and I have always loved my name. To me it sounds soft and sweet. I too am called "Carebear" by those I love. I just think the name looks pretty on paper as well as flows nicely from the mouth. Rarely does anyone spell it correctly though. I thought that if I ever had twin girls I would have named them Carrie and Callie though." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jun 09, 2006: "I think my name's alright. I've met 3 other Carrie's in my life, one being my neighbor. I didn't really like her. She ruined it for me, but I met this really great person named Jennyfer, and I've wanted the name ever since. I think my names alright though." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jan 27, 2006: "My birth name is Carole, which I've never really liked...so I changed it to Carrie...I love it, but it is rarely spelled correctly! There are so many ways to spell it stating with a C and then it gets mixed up with Kerry...I've found many people who can't seem to hear the difference between Ca (as in cat)and Ke(as in kept)...all in all I am happy with it...it has a soft sound, is fun to write and people respond well to it." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Dec 14, 2005: "This is our daughters name and I think it is beautiful. I agree with the first poster "a real Carrie is a rare and beatiful thing" The name goes great with our last name. And also goes great with her married name. I don't associate the name with the movie at all." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Aug 30, 2005: "Yeah, i love my name. But it does have that rhymer tendency, and that dratted book, lol. But it's a good name. You see Karis and Kerris and Careys, but a real Carrie (not a diminuitive) is a rare and beautiful thing (no, i am not modest)" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jul 06, 2005: "I like my name. It rhymes with a lot of stuff so I was called hairy carrie and scary carrie, but I am mostly called Care Bear which is alright." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left May 24, 2005: "The only problem with the name is that there are so many variations that it was nearly impossible to find a pencil, bookbag, anything with my name spelled correctly. For a kid, that was pretty disappointing. In addition, the movie "Carrie" came out when I was a kid, which triggered the schoolground nickname "Scary Carrie."" (Report as inappropriate)
