User Comments about the name Carol
Comment left Jan 06, 2010: "My name is Carol-Ann and I love being double-barrelled. I was born on the 12th of December and the doctor suggested that my mother name me Carol. Not to be outdone, she added the Ann." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Sep 24, 2009: "MY NAME IS CAROL BUT IT'S SPELLED "KARYL" AND I HAPPEN TO LOVE MY NAME, ALL THROUGHOUT SCHOOL TEACHERS WOULD MISPRONOUNCE IT BUT WHEN THEY FOUND OUT THE WAY IT WAS REALLY PRONOUNCED THEY ALWAYS COMPLIMENTED ME ON SUCH A UNIQUE WAY OF SPELLING IT. I FIND MY NAME TO BE DIFFERENT AND JUST PLAIN AWESOME!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jul 21, 2009: "This is my name and all through school I spelled it Karyl and I was able to deal with it. But now that I am older I spell it normal. I still wish I had changed the legal spelling." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left May 08, 2009: "I'm 21 and I have never liked my name. I think it is old-fashioned and outdated. If anyone is thinking about naming their daughter Carol, I would rethink it." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left May 05, 2008: "I have always liked my name. (You could do a lot worse.) I never thought it had a nickname until a male friend started calling me "Carol-Carol" when I was 33, and I liked that. I see I was born in the year of the very most Carol baby girls....ever! Never knew that. I don't think of it as an old-fashioned name, though I suppose young people probably do. I would secretly like one of my kids to name one of my grandchildren with Carol as a middle name. My middle name is MY grandmother's name, and that always made me feel good, even though she was already gone by the time I was born." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jan 28, 2008: "I've always wished my name were Caroline instead of Carol. There's some historical precedent because my father's grandmother was a Caroline, but there were no Carols in the family. The thing I dislike most about my name is that it was SO popular in the 1940s and 1950s and has been less so since. So, people can always tell how old I am from my name." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jul 28, 2007: "I'm actually thinking this name is missing something. It needs a Lynn. CaroLynn. But then again there's already a Carolyn for that hehe..." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Jul 11, 2007: "I like my name as it often gets remembered by a Christmas Carol. I have met lots of other women around my age named Carol. I have had no problems with my name or anyone trying to spell it. Which makes it easy." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left May 11, 2007: "I like it cuz its my name! It means Song of Joy..." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Nov 23, 2006: "mai name is carol and nobody pronounces ma name wrong and love my name because im named after my favourite aunty so yurr" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Sep 20, 2006: "I like my name! The only time I get frustrated with it, is when people ask me how to spell it!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Sep 05, 2006: "My experience with the name is that a lot of people assume your name is actually Carolyn. I really love the name. Today I went to a workshop and met 2 people with the name Carol! I really love my name--when people pronounce it correctly. Sometimes people are a little lazy and pronounce it "Curl". That's the only time I hate my name." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Apr 25, 2006: "I think it's a great name! Sometimes people add an e to the end of it-- Carole--but either way, I think it's a classy name. It's a common name for December babies, which I am, and a firend of mine also is." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Mar 11, 2006: "Even if the name Carol is quite old fashioned,it's not a hideous old lady's name like Bertha and Gertrude." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Mar 10, 2006: "I love the name....can't mispronounce it, no one asks you to spell it..you can't shorten it...don't meet many others with the name..It has worked well for me! A real Classic!" (Report as inappropriate)
