Comment left Jul 23, 2009: "my name is caleigh, pronounced as cali and i've been cali for 22 years of life. to those who think that's wrong or to those who think it being said as kaylee is wrong, you're wrong. a name is given to a child by the parents and how they say it is how they intend it to be. take kirsten dunst, mostly kirsten is pronounced as kursten, but she's been brought up to say its keersten. it's like parents who name their child madysen instead of madison, it doesn't make them not a madison just because it's spelled different. so whether you're caleigh said as cali or kaylee, be proud of your name and don't let anybody tell you how it should be said." Those whose name is Caleigh wanting to be called Cali, you've missed the rules of phonetic pronunciation but i feel your pain as many obviously do not know those rules and every so often even family calls my daughter Cal-leigh. I always thought Ca was pronounced with a short vowel... In our case, Caleigh is pronounce Cali... Every time I put an extra l in the name it came out as Call-ee...Not sure why, but it did.
