I love the name and suits our little one to a "T" I think it is a strong yet beautiful and feminine name. I have had mixed reactions to it, but when I tell people the meaning: "melodious" or rythmic people usually love it. Comment left Nov 28, 2007: "I named my daughter Cadence Michelle. I chose this spelling because Cadence is a real word. I am not a big fan of creative spellings. The name has become popular lately but not common. I heard it first on American Wedding or Shallow Hal. It's used in both movies. We call her both Cadence and Cadie. I wasn't sure at first about Cadie,Cadey,or Cady. I ussually have to repeat the name a few times when I tell peolple her name and sometimes they still think I said Cayden. Also the name is often pronounced Candace. I guess some people just see it that way at first glance. I still love the name Cadence and Cadie for a nick name and we get alot of positive comments on her name when we introduce her." (Report as inappropriate)
