I like my name and don't think it sounds old-fashioned. I work at a large law firm and think that "Barbara" sounds professional and pretty at the same time. It is especially beautiful sounding when pronounced by people of spanish or italin descent because the three syllables are pronounced..with a softly rolled "r"..I think it's a strong yet feminine name." Comment left May 09, 2008: "In 'Batman: The Animated Series (aka The Adventures Of Batman And Robin)' and in the 1994 episode "Batgirl Returns", it starts off with Barbara Gordon dreaming that she, as Batgirl, was rescuing Batman from The Joker, The Penguin, and Two-Face and knocking the villains to the ground, until being woken up by Robin the Boy Wonder's other identity Dick Grayson. Though in that episode Barbara was convinced she had given up the 'Batgirl' days, she changed into Batgirl on hearing of the theft of the Jade Cat statue from Gotham Museum and all evidence pointed to Catwoman - yet it turned out the real thief was corrupt businessman Roland Daggett, whom Catwoman had long held a grudge against. So overall, the episode showed Batgirl and Catwoman teaming up to bring Daggett down once and for all." (Report as inappropriate)
