I'm Abi, Abb, Abbs,etc. (I used to be Abidoodle, in grade 7). It's hard to get teachers to spell it right (or anyone, really). It's Abigale, or Abygayle, or Abbigale. I don't mind being called Abi, but my favourite nickname is Abb or Abbs. i think it's a pretty name... but my daughters will not have it. It means "My Father rejoices over me." Close friends call me Abi. My husband calls me Gail, but he is the only one I allow to. When people ask me what my name is I say "Abigail." I don't know any other Abigails. It is not a common name in my age group. A lot of people I meet for the first time, or who are only acquainatances often call me Gabriel. I don't know why. I don't usually correct them. I just smile and wonder why it is a common error among so many people who do not know each other. If you are an Abigail, you are blessed with a beautiful name.
