We chose it because we thought it sounded strong, pretty cool, and wanted something kind of unusual to go with our very common last name. A few years went by before we met another, but now it's not so rare. And, like several other names that used to be exclusively boys' names, we've now heard of a couple girls with it, though spelled differently. We love the name. (I joked to my husband, while pregnant with our daughter, that maybe we should name her Zana.) Our son has always liked his name. And I think people tend to remember him partly because of it!" A Hebrew man heard me calling him one day in a park and told me that it is a Hebrew name and it means "A Gift from God" and as far as I am concerned he is a gift from God to me. When he was younger he stopped liking it because it was so easy to rhyme and other kids used to make up sill rhymes so for a while he called himself Paul because it was plain and simple.
