I approached my husband with it because he wanted something "tough" but not overtly tough. We used Christian in case he would rather default to a more common name when he is older. In the South, people did want to call him Taylon. And other people try to go for something more familiar and think they hear Allen. We spelled it with two L's so it would be easier to pronounce, except that we live in Texas and alot of the people pronounce it as Tayon because of the two L's sounding like a "y"." I have had 3 biological children and raising three other children. So Talon is going to have six siblings. He is the lucky number 7! I don't know anyone named Talon but one of my daughters is friends with a boy named Orion. The kids also picked the name Talon too and also no one else in our family has a T name. I dont have to put his last name on anything for school since he's the only one :-) His father and I are die hard Philadelphia Eagles fans and that's how we came up with the name. Also, he goes to Catholic school (K-8) and ever since he was little, he always got the attention of the 'older' kids "Your name is SO cool!" - he hears that all the time (and loves it too - especially from the girls...haha). But most agree to liking it as I always will, so it doesnt really matter. The only thing i admit to not liking is people asking me if it is Talon like the eagle claw...thats why I'm glad we at least chose a different spelling. In my opinion a talon is a claw that is sharp.
