User Comments about the name Ryne
Comment left Jun 11, 2009: "My son is 3-months old. We couldn't decide on the name Rylan or Ryne. We wanted an uncommon name. We knew we wanted an "R" name, so he would have the initals "RR". We decided we loved the name Ryne. It is such a strong name, and it fits him perfectly. My husband is the one who thought of Ryne (I am sure he thought of it because of Ryne Sanberg). It is a great name." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left May 14, 2009: "Yeah im 19 and my name is Ryne. I have to spell my name out for EVERYONE! I dont understand how people look at my name and still say ryan. Its unbelievable. The only type of people that pronounce my name right are sure enough Cubs Fans. GO CUBBIES!!! World Series bound this year!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Apr 29, 2009: "My son is 10 months old and we named him Ryne after Ryne Sandberg. My husband LOVES the Cubs. When people ask what his name is and we tell them Ryne (pronounced Rye-n), they just assume it is Ryan. We usually clarify the spelling/pronunciation with them if it's someone we will see again. I love his name because I only know of two others who have the same name. My husband and I are also teachers so we really like that we haven't had any students with that name yet. :) I think the name really suits him. I guess people might just feel more comfortable making it a two syllable name?" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Apr 25, 2009: "I am 14 and my name is Ryne(also named from Ryne Sandberg) and it gets really annoying because people always call me Ryan. Sometimes i just dont even correct them cuz ive become so used to it. I guess its a different name that not many people have but idk if it woulda just been easier naming me ryan or pronouncing it like Ryan but still haveing it spelled Ryne." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Mar 28, 2009: "My name's Ryne! I LOOVEEEEE IT SOOO MUCH!! I'm named after Ryne Sanberg also! I hate how everyone alls me 'Ryan' though. and spell check always says i spell my name wrong! ohh well. =)" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Oct 05, 2008: "My 16-yr-old son's name is Ryne. When I was about 7 months pregnant, we were still undecided. We liked Ryan, but could tell is was becoming very trendy. My husband was gone for a couple of weeks to Germany with the Army. We had started looking at cities, street names, rivers, etc. by then. When he crossed over the Rhine River, he thought of Ryne Sanberg--my husband was a 2nd baseman as a kid! So we named him Ryne, but pronounce it Ryan." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Oct 01, 2008: "We gave our son the middle name Ryne. Yes, after Ryne Sandberg. We just didn't want him to have to correct everyone all the time when they called him Ryan so we made it his middle name. LOVE IT!" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Mar 07, 2008: "My brother's name is Ryne. My parents named him after the Chicago Cubs baseball player Ryne Sanberg. It's pronounced Rye-n or like the Rhine River or rhino. People mispronounce his name as Ryan all the time. There is at least one other boy that has brother's name (first and last in the same small town!). He was also named after Ryne Sanberg. The popularity of the name in the late 1980's through the early 1990's most likely coincides with Ryne Sanberg's baseball career. He is now retired." (Report as inappropriate)
