I looked straight in to babys closed eyes and said I will name you riley I saw him smile and my heart melted. 9 years later and I know that Riley was the best decision. My son loves his name and it was so cute my son got a cat and he named it Riley jr. Comment left Feb 25, 2009: "My daughter is 14 yrs old - Riley Veronica. Riley means "valiant" or brave, and Veronica means "beauty". And, that's definitely what she is! I am half Irish and my husband is French - so we have our own Scarlett O'Hara! My other kids are Delaney Nicole, Braeden Christopher, and Reagan Elizabeth. We wanted to keep the Irish heritage alive by using all Irish surnames. None of them are a boy's or a girl's first name by origin at all, but rather all of them are Irish last names. However, we made sure to give them very gender-specific middle names so there would be no confusion as to whether they were girls or boys. We get complimented all the time on their "unique" names!"
