Comment left Jul 02, 2008: "I think Ramses is WAY better than Ramsey. Ramses Peabody Emerson is one of the best men ever. okay, so he's fictional. too bad.(read the Amelia Peabody books)" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Dec 29, 2006: "MY name is Ramses, not Ramsey, but it is sometimes mistaken and pronounced like that =/.. Most People have a lot of trouble pronouncing/spelling/writing down my name, which is at times bothering.. I was born in Mexico and there, Mexico, it is pronounced, Ram-seh-s, (with the 'R' rolled) but now i live in the US and people pronounce it, Ram-sees. Now i dont like prnouncing my own name aloud, because i dont know which to tell them to call me because It istrouble some in the spanish version, and i dont like it in English =/.. But overall I like my name because it gives something to talk about in an akward situation or something like that. Sometimes people even callme 'Ramses the great.' hehe =D" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Sep 21, 2006: "Could the 1980 popularity have to do with the popular romance novel, "The Proud Breed"? The book was popular in early 1980. The Hero's name is Gavin Ramsay.
It's ok." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Nov 27, 2005: "my son's name is Ramsey. besides having a Scottish/English meaning, there is also a name usually spelled Ramzi, pronounced Ram-zee, which means "Symbolic" in Arabic. we usually pronounce Ramsey as Ram-zee, but Ram-see and Rahm-zee are fine as well.
I've met three very young Ramzis, and two Ramseys: both the Ramseys were adult, over 50. one was a Ph.D. at Texas Tech University.
sometimes people think we are saying Ramses/ Rameses, like Rameses the Great... not a bad connotation, though" (Report as inappropriate)
