User Comments about the name Quinn

  • Comment left Nov 14, 2009: "My second son Quinn was born in 1996. Aside from being a strong Irish name, it is also the name of the small town in South Dakota where my father lived as a small child." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jul 29, 2009: "I am having my 4th baby and if it is a boy I want to use Quinn. My 3 girls all have girly-girl names and I would never think of using a "boy name" for a girl. Pretty soon there will be no real "manly names" left for the poor little boys!" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jul 27, 2009: "My son was born in 2003 and we names him Quinn, I have an older daughter and if she was a boy would have been Quinn. So many people comment on the name, we call him Quinny as a nickname. I think it's a very strong name i'm from an irish background and loved the name as soon as i heard it." (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left Jul 12, 2009: "Quinn is definitely a boy's name so those whole feel we should "get over it" are immature" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jul 07, 2009: "My best friend's dad is named Quinn. Just Quinn, not Quinlan or anything. He's a nice guy, in his 50s, and the name is really good and masculine and I like names that start with Q or Z. I bet it's more popular now than when he was a baby but I can see why b/c it's kinda different w/o being lame." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jun 20, 2009: "Love the name...for a boy. The only reason very young trailer park livin' moms are loving names like Jaden/Jayden (etc.) and Quinn for a girl = Britney Spears' son Jaden and the teeny show starring her young sister, Zoey 101 ("Quinn" was a female character). Outside of the teen pregnancy brigade, Quinn works for me as a male name OR a unisex name in a book." (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left Apr 01, 2009: "We named our son Quinn in 2003 because it was easy to pronouce, easy to spell, and not that common but also not rare (as in kooky). I'm not so fond of the nickname "Quinny" although sometimes people call him that. I prefer "Q"--only one syllable and he likes it too. Quinn does have a strong masculine sound to it as others have mentioned, which I like. He is living up to his name!" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Mar 13, 2009: "My son was born May 31, 2005 and his name is Quinn. As someone else said, we sometimes call him Quinny. Everyone thinks it is a great name and when strangers hear me calling him, they often comment. One pregnant woman said that she liked it so much she might consider it for her child if born a boy. It is a strong Irish name and not a common name that everyone is using. I hope that it never is. I have never wanted to give my son a "popular name" that 3 others in a classroon might have. I have met some other Quinns in the last few years and I must say all of these boys seem mischievious." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jan 25, 2009: "Our Second son was born August of 2006 and his name is Quinn. I love his name and all but my husbands family love his name as well. We call him Quinny for a nickname. His name seems to me that it will be a very fitting name for him even in his adult years. We dont know anyone with the name Quinn except as a surname. I have heard of people who know other people in the area with it but its not like other names where there will be 2 or 3 of them in the same class." (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left Jan 24, 2009: "my son is named Quin and I find it a man's name very strong, I alwayd get a comment when people hear me call him" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Dec 15, 2008: "When my daughter was pregnant her child came to her in a dream. He told his mother he was a boy, he was going to be born in early December and his name is Quinn. This was all before my daughter's first ultrasound. Even though the doctor's told my daughter to expect a Christmas delivery, Quinn was true to his word and was born 12/5/2005. My daughter honored her dream in naming him." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Sep 24, 2008: "My son was born July 27, 2002. I named him Quinn Thomas. He is very compassionate, and loving, at he same time he is ALL boy. I considered naming him Zachary Quinn, but I felt Zachary was too common. I'm glad I named him Quinn, because it still "different" without being difficult to say. I hope it serves him well in life." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jul 28, 2008: "We named our Gordon Setter puppy Quinn. We wanted a Gaelic name and it fits his strong personality. It is also short and good for training purposes. If I were to have another son I would have named him that. I also like it as a girls name." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jul 09, 2008: "MY NAME real name is Le'Quinn but my family and loved ones call me QUINN for short i love it because im usually the only one at my school who has that name. it matches my personality which is unique. im the one and ONLY Quinn at my school and im porud of it. but in my high school days, i got teased because my peers thought my name was girly. but as i got older and in college, the girls say how sensitive my name sounds. i was born aug 17th 1990. i love my name so much" (Report as inappropriate)

  • Comment left May 22, 2008: "Our son is nicknamed Quinn because he is a "fifth" (just as a son who is a third could be nicknamed Trey). My husband and I have some Irish background so that makes it appropriate as well. Besides, it's cool and classy without being too cutesy or trendy. It suits him and we love it!" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left May 22, 2008: "my dads name is quin and so is my little brothers name" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left May 19, 2008: "My son Jessiah's middle name is Quinn. We both love it." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left May 01, 2008: "My 3th child is 5 weeks old, and his name is Quinn. Were Dutch, and here in Holland you never hear this name. It`s very special. I really love this name, it`s sounds really good and strong like most people say. I named him Quinn Quincey Quintin. Triple Q. Nice name, and unique also." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Apr 11, 2008: "My son Quinn was born on Jan 21, 2007. My wife and I both come from an Irish background, so we wanted a good strong Irish name, and Quinn was perfect, we both love the name. Quinn's older sister didn't like the name at first, saying it was weird and a girls name (Thank you, Zoey 101!), but even she loves it now." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Feb 11, 2008: "Quinn is unique enough not to be heard everyday, with a strong, masculine yet sensitive feel to it." (Report as inappropriate)
