Comment left Oct 15, 2009: ""hey all! I'm another Mizael (yes, spelled with the "z", i thank my father for that). Just like everyone, i've been called, mizz, misa, missle, misel, misal, among others.. haha. But I love my name, it's unique! Powerful meaning and origin. In English, everyone calls me "Miz" for short, and in Spanish, "Misa". Great name we have I tell you!"" (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Apr 16, 2009: "Misael is a great name and thanks to everyone who explained how properly to say it! It is not my name but I took it for a user-name when I was debating with atheists on an atheist site. I chose it because I was a believer going among the enemies of God, just as Daniel's friend did, as some have mentioned here. Greetings all you other Misaels, and especially the friends of God!" Comment left Feb 02, 2009: "This is my son's name, he is 11 years-old and a Black Belt in Songahm Taekwondo. I named him after his father because I loved the originality of the name. His father is from Mexico (Acatlan area). People always pronounce it wrong but most actually ask and I tell them (miss-i-ell) they usually get it but then go back to calling him missle.
He says he likes it but doesn't like it when people don't pronounce it right." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Dec 04, 2008: "The Name As Pronounced is Greek- in Hebrew it is Mishael,I should know i have carried the name for 40 years.I never imagined it would be given to children in this TIME AND AGE! Very difficult for many to pronounce." (Report as inappropriate)

He doesn't like the name.. he says it'll be too hard for him in school with people mis-pronouncing it. We speak Spanish and so I pronounce it correctly, but I do realize that for people who don't speak Spanish, it's hard to pronounce. oh well.." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Aug 10, 2008: "My son's middle name is Misael. My dad always wanted a son (we're all girls) and so he always wanted to name the son he never had Misael. I wasn't sure to name my baby boy Misael, but after researching the meaning of it I realized it'd be perfect. This is some info I found:
Misael
Language of origin: Hebrew
Meaning/translation: Who is what God is?
Info about origin: in the Bible Misael is a friend of Daniel
Words: miy=who; el=God, the powerful
Variants: Misael German, English (#716 in US popularity)
I am also a Christian and I loved it even more when I found out that the name of Misael is in the Bible. I know people might have a bit of trouble pronouncing it in English but his first name is simple so he can go by either or.
By the way, he is 3-months old and he is gorgeous. I know that the strength of his name will destine him for greatness and success." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Jul 21, 2008: "Hi hi! My name is also Misael, but the spelling is different on my birth certificate it's Missael. I'm from Mexico. but i've lived in the States, Germany and Holland and people say my name in different ways. Some friends and people in the States used to call me "missile" or "misel" and it was fine for me. Almost all Europeans say my name in the proper way, especially those of Judeo ancestry. Here in Holland where i live now i went through a very weird experience where this lady called me Miseil" i didn't understand why she couldn't pronunce it right, but later on i found out she was from Iceland and that it was hard for her to say it in the Spanish way. Well i hope i can meet someone with my name in the future and just calle each other Misa". Cheers." (Report as inappropriate)

Whenever I have to pronounce my name, I always expect a "what" or "how do you spell that" it doesn't really bother me though...I guess I'm use to it." (Report as inappropriate)
