Comment left Oct 13, 2010: "We are planning to name our baby, if a girl, Mikhail Lynn. (Mi-Kale) I think its a very pretty name, something rather unique. My brothers name is Michael, so its a nice change up of his. Its a name we both fell in love with." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Sep 29, 2010: "My son is called Mikhail, I love the name but our local mosque says its a name of an angle and a Muslim should not call his son Mikhail. Its only a name but not sue if i should change it or not." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Aug 08, 2010: "I gave my son the middle name of Mikhail 21 years ago and for many years he did not use it. That all changed when he turned 18 and realized what a neat name it is. Now he uses it all the time. My husband still does not know how to spell it. I think it's great and very strong name." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Dec 23, 2009: "I'm a fan of uncommon names. I've met two people with the name Mikhail, a boy and a girl. When the time comes, I plan on using the name for a little girl and pronouncing it Ma-kale. It has a really strong presence and rings well." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Dec 21, 2009: "haveing this name is not that great because many people said it isn't even a names and I kind of find it in other person name Mikhail said the same thing that people are said that way." (Report as inappropriate)

Comment left Aug 31, 2009: "my name is mikhail and hardly anyone knows how to spell it when i tell them my name for the first time. i've got spelling such as mikail, mickail.. 0_0... i guess its based on how we pronounce it. in fact, the name is a russian name which would mean michael, meaning he who is close to God. its actually pronounced, in russian as mi-ky-ale. one could even say that the 'h' in the sentence should not be silent and pronounced 'hi'. im seriously contemplating changing the pronounciation as here in Jamaica, the name has gotten quite common especially for those born at the time of mikhail Gorbachev's nobel peace prize for negotiating the end of the cold war." Comment left Apr 30, 2009: "I love this name but I would pronounce the name as Mik-hail! Mee-khail is cute but it sounds a femine to me" (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Aug 01, 2008: "i name my son mikhail as is the name i got it from my dream and that very name appear on a kid jersy the very next day. Before he was born i tried to call him lots of name but he only repond by giving his baby kicks when i i called him mikhail." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Apr 12, 2008: "My name is Mikhail (I've grown up saying it as Me-kale). I'm ambivalent as to whether I like it or not. No one can ever spell my name right and most of the time I'm called 'Me-kai-yul' by my teachers but everyone else usually calls me Me-kale. Everyone usually comes up with 'Mik' as a nickname eventually." (Report as inappropriate)
Comment left Sep 03, 2007: "I have this name, and I am glad to have it. I have always found it nice to have a less common name, but it does have the side effect of people often butchering it. In fact, I think technically I mispronounce my own name. I am of Russian and Ukrainian descent, and I pronounce it as in Mik-kyle (with mik as in 'Mikky mouse'). I have heard people say Me-kyle, Mi-kale, and many more.
Famous people with this name include Mikhail Gorbachev (Politician), Mikhail Bakunin (Anarchist), Mikhail Khodorkovsky (Once-billionaire/Yukos owner, now convict), and Mikhail Baryshnikov (Ballet Dancer (and yes, he is a male as well)). There is also the fictional character on the TV show 'Lost' named Mikhail Bakunin, whose name was based off of the real-life Mikhail Bakunin.
I have never met others with the same name, however for such an uncommon name there are many billionaire businessmen with this name, and one major politician." (Report as inappropriate)
